Is using a 1/8" (3.2mm) rod too big for a single 27 gauge Kanthal coil?

Previously, I was making a single 1.3 ohm Kanthal coil by wrapping it around a 7/64" (2.8mm) rod.

I was thinking that I could insert a little more cotton wicking in the coil if I used a larger 1/8" (3.2mm) rod instead.

7 wraps of Kanthal 27 gauge wire around a 3.2mm rod will give me right at 1.3 ohms.

I am using a Lemo 2 atomizer, so the build deck size is not a problem.

What do ya think ... Bad idea, or good idea making this coil a little bigger in diameter so I can insert a little more cotton into it?

Thanks ...

Well, this morning I made a single Kanthal coil using a large 1/8" drill bit (3.2mm) ... Took 7 wraps to make a 1.3 ohm coil.

I really didn't like the vape.

I went back to using the next size smaller drill bit which is a 7/64" (2.8mm) ... Took 8 wraps to make the 1.3 ohm coil.

Much better overall vape as far as I'm concerned.

I'm a mouth to lung vaper ("tootle puffer"), so this 1.3 ohm coil seemed to give me the best results when fed 13.5 watts .... That gives a Heat Flux of 130
