Opinionated, that is too funny :) I'm not sure I could pull that one off with a straight face. Not with anyone who knows me, at least. Maybe strangers, but even the they might catch sight of my rather elderly and on its last legs smartphone... That the household forced me to buy, mainly for MapQuest. I will say that has improved my driving skillz quite a bit.

Anna

I do dry straight faced humor well.. it's my normal state actually. What gives away the joke is always a look in my eye, everyone calls it my mischievous, up to no good, ornery look. Hahaha..

With 5+ years into vaping, I still get questions from my hubby about the safety. He knows I am a smart inquisitive person and would do all due diligence into vaping. Latest question was about battery safety. The very funny thing about this is he is sitting there using my sigelie 60w mod and a subtank mini for his [edited], which he has no idea how to adjust wattage on. It is set at 11W with a 1.5Ω coil. I set it for him. The other funny thing is he has been using 2mg nic gum for 10yrs!!! He still thinks I am smoking!!!
In regards to any questions from strangers, I tell them I had always smoked and this is better for me.

If the person questioning vaping (or rather, ridiculing it) is much younger than me I use psychology on them. After presenting a couple choice facts I just mention the fact that I'm older than them and more up to date concerning technology, and simply mention how sad that is on their part.

Then giggle and walk away.. :) they like thinking themselves technologically adept.. hate it when the older folk are further ahead in the times than they are.. lol.
Oh Boy. I had an opportunity to ask the girl at work the source of her opinion that vaping is worse than smoking and her answer was...Huffington Post and Facebook. I had to bite my tongue to not laugh and tell her those aren't credible sources for scientific information. She still tried to argue with me that her tobacco free cigarettes were safe and just wouldn't hear me trying to explain that inhaling the products of any combustion is going to carry risk, more risk than vaping. In her mind the enemy is nicotine and not combustion.

Hmm.. you should have asked her if combustion anything is so good for her why do they have to treat people with oxygen, bronchodilators, and more for smoke inhalation. Some even need to be on ventilators. In a fire, usually smoke kills you well before the fire ever does.

There is no "healthy" breathing in of smoke. It's called the procrastinators suicide for a reason and it's not the nicotine. The only difference between the victim of a fire and the smoker of things combustible is the quantity over time. They both do the same thing though, one just a little slower.

Anyway, huff po and Facebook probably forgot to mention these fun facts in favor of racking in their advertising dollars.

Not that I'm a huff po fan, by far, after talking to girlie at work I did a search of huff po and vaping to see what they have produced. To their credit they did cover the Cancer Research UK report and the recent FDA announcement by Gottlieb.

Were those coverages in negative or positive light?

Sometimes these pieces are little more than hit pieces when you dig into them. Huff Po is very liberal, so likely their Gottlieb coverage was a partisan hit piece, which leaves their coverage of what the UK national health doctors said up in the air, it may have been positive but so many negatives prior to a positive can cancel that positive out or make the positive not register as much with people.

Just went back to read them again and they were both positive, though brief.

If anyone ever told me that vaping wasn't good for me or safe, I'd simply point out that I no longer have COPD or need 2 inhalers every day since I quit cigs. I also no longer have that awful phlegm-y cough!
I also stay away from mech mods and only use regulated devices to make vaping a "no brainer" and as safe as possible for me[emoji4]

Those that knew me when I smoked are flabbergasted (love using that word) when they see I can now climb a flight of stairs without having to stop at the top.

Others are surprised to find I haven't killed anyone yet since I haven't had a cig.

Win win.

Today I saw a young guy pushing a bicycle up the hill. Out of his pocket came a tiny little stealth vape. Very little vapor but he doubled over coughing. It might have been harmful to him
That may have been something else he inhaled.

New member here. Ive been vaping 4 years. I do feel a little better vaping than smoking but! It's not safe. I know everyone is different but after vaping for 4 years I have many of the same symptoms I had while smoking cigs. A ton of throat clearing to the point where I'm going to see my DR about it. Coughing , hacking up a lot of clear phlegm, and shortness of breath while excercising. I'm a pretty heavy vapor so I know that's part of the problem. I know I need to quit though and am starting to cut back. Everyone's different but no it's not safe all the ingredients will build up in your lungs if you're an inhaler like me.
