Which reminds me: could they have chosen a worse name? iSeason? Really.

:D

yeah i seriously hate the name as well. i think it's ridiculously horrible. why not something like oh i dont know...how about not the iseason. lets rename it lol

"best device of a copy of another (that is really good) with a name inspired by an mp3 player and cell phone...the iseason"

Looks like I'll be getting some 18490 batts

Question - when you remove the use of the spring - and start sanding down the spring post - isn't it making a circular connection with the battery since there is no brass screw inside ? So in short - the circle of the brass tube is what is making contact correct ? Just want to make sure - or are you guys using a brass rod or screw to fill the spring pole hole

You're correct, you just sand down the tube. Take care to keep it "flat" at the top of the tube so that it makes even contact. I can assemble mine now and see the ring "impression" in the bottom of the battery (it leaves a very faint ring there -- you can see that the ring is making even contact). That's a good bit of brass contact.

The harder part is sanding the positive post on the top. I contemplated if for days because I didn't want to mess it up, or make it uneven so it had poor contact with the battery. I was going to fashion a rig to hold a dremel and the cap, but then I went for it and pushed the whole brass piece out from the 510 end. It's just press-fit into the white insulator, so it comes right out.

Ahh I see. Easy. Well I was going to sand down the positive contact by hand using fine grit and I was going to sand the spring pole by hand using thicker grit since there is more brass there ? Is that ok ?

You guys should check out my AC-x9 genny Atty cool that I started. This would look mint with the AC-x9 RBA

Does anyone have a pair of calipers that can measure the battery spring in the base? Would like to know if it can be replaced and need the dimensions to see if it can be matched up to something in retail channels. Need overall length, diameter, maybe wire size/gauge. A good metric ruler might work as well if someone would be so kind.

You can do the positive contact how ever you'd like, but you risk marring either the stainless edges of the cap or the plastic insulator. I removed it (it just presses out from the 510 side) to get it as flat as possible and to protect everything from the sandpaper (and I used a dremel on that to remove most of the brass, then finished up with a fine emery board -- the kind you use for fingernails).

What is the AC-x9?

I lost my metric scale years ago in a move, and haven't been able to find it since. If no one else posts in the meantime, I'll pick one up next time I'm at the hardware store. I have a micrometer (decimal inches) if you want to convert sizes; just let me know.
