The Pit of Despair
I just had my Bolt and Washer mod for the iSeason show up today (Thank You to the Person who shall remain Anonymous). REGISTERING AN AMAZING 0.21V DROP UNDER LOAD! 4.14v charge on the Battery 3.93v Under Load. This is also not a very great battery this is an EH 18650 IMR LiMn I got from madvapes a few months ago and is still one of my most used batteries (though that will change now that I have my iSeason running. I'm completely blown away - my original tests showed a 0.7-0.9v drop.

Care to share what the mod is exactly? Any pics? Does the bolt thread into the sleeve?

That's right around the drop I get with the brass-to-brass 18490 mod.

Glad you're happier with it now. :)

Can you please post some pictures?

I've only got a crappy webcam built into my laptop so you will have to bear with the quality. My fiance is a photographer but the lighting in my house (without a lighting kit set up) is terrible for a good quick shot. This will give you the general idea there are 2 small custom washers cut to fit without touching the sides of the iSeason. 1 is copper 1 is brass. It screws down together with just a little tiny bit of give on one of the rings (which is undetectable as included in last shot).

Edit: I apologize for my greasy hair.

Another Edit: Didn't see StaircaseWit's post above me - it does not thread in to the post it sits in there. Though it does not fall out easily as it seems to catch on the threading (not hard to pull out and its nice that it stays in there).

Whooooaaa. Was really really liking the roller (& dingo), was going for it when tax return comes. Not sure now.

ME, TOO. I've been on the email alert list at vaperev for the roller custom SS-M for a while. I've heard the drop has to do with the hot spring, and that if you remove it you remove the protection but greatly increase the performance. I'm not so sure I'll be ordering it now, seeing another source that the drop is that large. Todd found it to be 0.4V if I remember correctly, and another youtube reviewer who got an upgraded switch was still seeing a 0.4V drop. I can do far better with my modded iseason.

Part of me wonders how much of that drop is due to the AGAT and its steel center post ...

I wondered that on JuniorNA's numbers because I had heard the AGA-T2 had a drop around 0.3V...but I'm getting a total circuit voltage drop of only 0.19-0.29 (depending on coils I've tried) on my modded iSeason using the AGA-T2.

Now that I did my test I'm going to test my lambo and zmax to see if I'm getting the voltage I set it at

My lambo Lrider VV will fire anything from .5 to .9 and everyone says I must have a broken chip - I am gonna set it to 4v and see if that's what I'm getting. Off topic but still

Tomorrow ill bring the iseason to Home Depot and check for brass screws.

Does Home Depot sell 18650/490/350 batteries ? No right ?

Edit the VV lambo is getting thrown out -
On my .9 coil I can't get more than 2.5 v no Matter what I set it to
Then I figured amp limit right?
Popped on my aga-t with 2 ohm and still won't go higher than 2.5v no matter what I set it at.

Garbage

Sorry for the side note. Back to the iseason getting brass screw or spring tomorrow or might just sand down the contact to fit 490 like swt did

Yea here is what sucks -
Now that I did numbers on all my devices I'm really annoyed.

Ill def get a brass screw for the 18490 mod but after testing the lambo and zmax I'm even more annoyed and would rather use an ego with a igo-l or igo-s

My zmax is about .65 v under whatever I set it at. My RBA at 1.8 ohms I set the zmax to 4 and was getting 3.3. Then I set it to 5 and getting 4.25. Then the lambo just doesn't go above 2.5 no matter what. I'm getting sick of all this BS.

Now I know why people spend hundreds on mechanicals and don't get VVs which depend on garbage china chipsets

Rant over

Funny ... I was looking at the silver and gold plating kits on Amazon last night.

Not sure if I want to go through all the hassle in removing the chrome plating off my cheap mechanicals only to find out it doesn't work ...lol. Then again you would really only need to dip the contact points ...

A friend did his Honda logo in 24K gold plating years ago (don't ask) and it lasted for years. It was a cheap kit he bought at a swap meet or something. I'm going to have to ask him. I'd only be interested in a few parts, so it wouldn't need much.

That's why I bought a provari 2+ years ago. :ducks:

Mod your iseason and you'll be happy.

I was just looking into silver and gold plating. Pretty easy to do at home but the kits aren't cheap. I wonder if I could get the whole mod gold- or silver-plated locally...

Hey now... I was going to do that. We use a number of plating houses at work and I was going to gold plate the center tube and then have my initials laser etched in the base to give it that "custom" look. :)

I am not sure you can really measure the voltage drop on a VV. Some of them us PWM so you're not getting a steady voltage output. I would google it myself but I am a little tired and to lazy right now lol.

I also know that my old lavatube would default to a certain voltage if it was set to high for a certain ohm carto or whatever you have on top.

And another thing is your battery. Depending on how old it is, the internal resistance, and what is actually puts out will also factor in to the voltage drop.

I have read that already. They are talking about mechanical devices.

PBusadro goes over the L-rider which has a 2.5 amp limit so that should be expected. The L-rider also does not use PWM. Skip to 10:40~ to see the charts.

He also goes over the Sigelei Zmax which I am not sure if that is what Junior has or not. But he also says it is about the same as the Smok Zmax. The video should skip to the charts.

That makes sense. Couldn't use a simple DMM, would need a scope or analyzer to freeze the pulse of the PWM. And you'd have to take into account the voltage regulation chip circuitry, which would of course be a voltage drop.
