Hey everyone.

So i got me and my mom two iStick 30w's.

We both have a small set of EVOD tanks that work beautifully with them.

I decided to get 2 Aspire Vivinova Mini S BDC tanks for me and mom.

Hers arrived yesterday.

So, i filled it up, screwed it together as the instructions say, and tried it on her iStick.

"No Atomizer".

Okay, so i thought maybe hers is dirty, lemme try it on mine.
"No Atomizer".

Everything is screwed down properly, i even tried it with the ego adapter (using the 510 end on the top), same result, "No Atomizer".

The coil isn't dead, because if i push it down gently without any sort of beauty ring or connector, the iStick reads it.

I sandpapered the 510 connector on the end of the tank a little bit, but still, "No Atomizer".
Not even my Kangertech EVOD reads it.

Any help, or is this tank dead for good?

Hello @CopticOptimist and welcome to the forum. By all specifications the iStick should read the tank. The part I don't understand is

"The coil isn't dead, because if i push it down gently without any sort of beauty ring or connector, the iStick reads it."

If you have the tank on the iStick (without any beauty ring or adapter) and you can push down then it would appear the tank isn't screwed on all the way. It could also be that the coil is not fully seated in the bottom of the tank. (i could not tell if the connection that makes contact with the 510 pin is a pin in the bottom of the tank or the end of the coil. If there is a pin at the bottom of the tank can it be screwed to make it stick down further? (make very small adjustments if this is the case).

One issue that "could" effect this is a stuck 510 pin on your iSticks/eGo's. Sometimes the 510 pin can get stuck off center or in the down position. This usually occurs when a tank has been screwed on too tight. The odds of this being the issue on all 3 devices would be unnatural, so I doubt this is the issue, but I had to suggest it as it has been a rare occurrence on the forum.

I haven't a clue what could be causing this so the best advice I can offer is to look at upgrading to an Aspire Nautilus Mini. You and your mom would love it, and it works great with the 30 watt iSticks.

What i meant by that, is taking the coil out of the tank, coil in hand, and gently pushing it down on the iStick connector. It reads it fine that way, but it doesn't read it when in the tank. If it does, it's a rarity.

With the coil in the tank it should have a tip of the coil (or a 510 pin the coil contacts in the tank- some of them can be screwed to adjust) protrude past the outer 510 threads. This area seems to me to be the issue. If there is no manner to adjust the coil/510 connection on the tank then you're probably stuck. If the 510 point on the tank IS lower than the threads then the only thing I can think of to try are the ones you've already completed, making certain the coil is properly installed and making sure the tank is screwed all the way on the iStick.

I wish I could help more. If you get your 5 posts in and then wait till the forum resets at half past the hour you become a full member and can post pictures, which could show someone the issue.

I had a problem like that with some Protanks. The pin that is supposed to stick out a bit below the 510 threads (which is part of the coil head) was just a little short. It would work on my MVP but not on my iStick 20w. I solved it by getting an adjustable airflow base which has it's own pin. I don't think those are available for the Vivi Nova.

I agree with Sir. The Nautilus/Nautilus mini have a spring loaded pin, separate from the coil head, they work on almost every device. They are about the best tank for the iSticks.
