Hey there fellas, listened a bunch of advices and bought my first equipment.
But there are few questions on my mind. Opened a new thread because its mainly about TC.

1) I've bought new iStick 40W TC but i didn't understand the whole TC concept. Can I use TC mode with normal coils too, or should I only use TC mode with Ni200 coils?

2) I've bought Kanger Subtank Nano with the iStick. It has both 0.5 and 1.2 ohm coils but I think none of them TC mode compatible. Should I buy spare 0.15 ohm coils for Subtank Nano or should I but GS-tank 0.15 ohm clearomizer?

$11.93 Authentic Eleaf GS-Tank Bottom Coil Clearomizer - 3ml / 0.15ohm / stainless steel + glass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

$10.26 Authentic KangerTech Ni200 OCC Coil Head for SUBTANK Series (5 Pieces) 5-pack - 0.15ohm (20-45W) at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

3) Everyone on Youtube and forums say that Temp Control coils (0.15 ohm) are much better than normal coils, vapor and flavor wise. Is there a benefit of using 1.2 ohm or 0.5 ohm coils of Subtank Nano over 0.15 ohm coils? Did I just spend 21 dollars for nothing? If I got it right, buying GS-Tank for 11 dollars and using TC mode with it instead of using Subtank Nano with VW mode is better in every possible way. Right?

1: the tc mode will only function with the Ni200 coils.

2: Buy the TC coils in order to make use of the iStick 40W TC mod in TC mode.

3: You can use the 1.2 ohm and 0.5 ohm coils in regular wattage mode.

Did you by the iStick and Kanger from FastTech?

Yes, I've bought them from FastTech. Both still in transit. Why did you ask?

Thank you very much, now I know that I need Ni200 coils.
Just wondering, are 0.15 ohm coils really better than other coils in terms of vapor and flavor? With the TC mode, I mean.

I think I'll order GS-Tank too and make a comparison.

The "0.15 ohm coils" are Ni200 coils for the TC to operate.

TC mode will basically enable you to avoid dry hits when your wicking isn't keeping up.

Thanks, so overall, Ni200 coils are better. That' what I've been wondering.

If it says authentic when you buy it from fasttech, it's authentic. If it says style, it's a clone. If you suspect it's not genuine, you can return/get a refund. It'll take a while, but so does the shipping in general lol.

go to Kangertech.com

Click on "Authentication" on the ride side of the screen

All the major Ecig manufactures provide this information

No clue what it remains a secret to forum members

I don't know if you are replying to the wrong thread but I've never mentioned anything about products being authentic/fake. I just wondered if Ni200 coils are better than 0.5 coils that's all.

Sorry, should have quoted @Cyrus Buelton for that. I assumed he was about to mention the possibility of clones and authentication code stuff off of Fasttech. Regarding the coils, temperature control is awesome with nickel, especially when you get it dialed in to what you like. You can set it for the temperature you like to vape at and for the ramp up time you want, then not worry about dry hits. I'd highly recommend the kanthal coils (both 0.5 and 1.2), but it's definitely still nicer to have a more consistent vape.

.

The Ni200 coils are for the current generation of TC mods.

I wouldn't go so far as to make a blanket statement that they are better.
If you had 0.5 ohm TC coils and compare with 0.5 ohm non-TC coils, then you can say the TC coil is better.

But using such low ohms as 0.15 ohms can have it's own problems. You have to keep your electrical contacts squeaky clean.
a small bit of contact resistance like 0.1 ohms due to corrosion will have a much bigger effect when vaping on a 0.15 ohm coil compared to vaping a 1.2 ohm coil.

Wrong. They are listed as "counterfeit" because they sell below Kangertech and Aspire's set prices. Funny thing is the authenticity codes still check out. Because they're from the same production line and factory and workers as every other product, with authenticity codes to boot.

Let's not derail the thread too much. I'll just say that they obviously don't sell anything for less than they paid for it. They're a business, and a legitimate one. They do sell authentics at a very reasonable price, and clones of those authentics at an even cheaper price. That's the last I'll say about the subject. Back on topic now lol.

I just received my eleaf 40, so now I'm reading I have to buy a new tank. Is this right? I have the Kangertech Mini and really can't afford to get a new tank just yet.
You don't necessarily have to get a new tank. The 40w TC iStick will work as a normal VW mod... (a.f.a.i.k). :)
