Hello all,
new member and relatively recent vaping user.

I’ve bought istick Pico months ago and I’m very happy with the device. I’m using it on ~34W and vape mouth to lungs w/ the intention to simulate smoking; not really interested in big clouds.

My question is regarding the battery — the current one which was recommended to me by the store owner is Efest 3500 mAh 20A w/ maximum continuous discharge of 10A (image attached below). The istick Pico manual states that the battrery should be providing continuous discharge above 25A.

I’m buying new battery tomorrow, but I’m wondering how dangerous is this mismatch?

Thanks!

At 34w the amp draw is around 11 amps near the low voltage cut off, the Pico has decent protections usually signaling low voltage & refusing to fire if the cell can't supply the demand, usually.

How dangerous? not very. Generally speaking a 10a CDR cell is okay up to about 30w.

I don't use any efest cells and wouldn't if they were free.

Up to 75W:
LG 18650 HD4 2100 mah 25 amp CDR
LG 18650 HD2 2000 mah 25 amp CDR
Sony 18650VTC5A, 2500 mah 25 amp CDR

Up to 90W:
LG18650HB6 1500mah 30 amp CDR
LG18650HB2 1500mAh 30 amp CDR

Since the iStick manufacturer recommends a battery of 25A continuous discharge rate, I'd recommend the Sony VTC5A 2500mah 25A battery. However, if you never vape over 40 watts you could theoretically use one of the 20A batteries.
