Hi guys. Been here for a while but never to the lounge (I don’t think) I’m trying up giving up vaping for a week or two to see if it helps my skin (which I’ve tried everything for).
I’ve spent a lot on very nice things absolutely adamant that vaping is not the cause but here we are.

I’d appreciate some chit chat to take up some time.
Anything and everything will help.

I’m taking my last puff!!!
Here goes

Good luck Zut. I hope your last puff goes well, and that you are able to puff again soon. Try not to puff the smokes, maybe some Swedish snus or nic salt pouches are in order. Best of luck!

Distractions.... Walking, making new threads IN the LOUNGE, LOL, maybe try parasailing, IDK, best of luck!

Not sure about anything death-defying (yet).:)

Im a little torn as to what I want though. I want clear skin like the old days, but I don’t want this to be the end of vaping :(
I’ll be on the classifieds if that’s the case
Has a dermatologist been involved in this quest perhaps? They are the pros after all

Good luck! If it doesn't work, you might consider eliminating dairy, sugar, and/or animal products. Those are the leading culprits of skin/allergy issues & inflammation. Dairy is particularly huge. *cheers :)

I do all of them already! No joy :(

Yeah. She’s happy to start that accutane/roaccutane which I don’t want to do

Have you tried high vg juices yet? What would you like to talk about? I'm game to help distract you.

Hi. Thanks but it doesn’t really matter now. I failed miserably at the first hurdle
I didn’t think nicotine was still a big deal to me.
But it is. About 8 hours in I looked like this

It was too much. Out came the kfun :(. I’ll try another time

Okay, if you've never had acne issues before, why would she jump straight to Accutane. I actually took it as a teen, when it was new. I was perfectly fine, although my brother got the "homicidal depression side effect."

Unless you are covered in boils and/or cystic acne, there is no reason not to start a topical regimen of retin-A and clindamycin topical cream. It can take a while, and you might even have to swallow an antibiotic for a month or two, but dermatologists do this all the TIME, it is far safer than Accutane.

I would go back (or find another dermatologist) one who is willing to work with you on your acne using less invasive methods first. Accutane is fine for most people, but it wouldn't be my first choice either. When my brother failed with Accutane, (they were just using it then as it was new! Exicting!) He took Bactrim for like 6 months, along with retin A and clindamycin cream and he was Just Fine. There are tons of more invasive methods than that.

You need to find a better dermatologist, especially since it looks like you are going to be vaping here, continued. Do it quickly before you start to get scarring, would be my advice.

I hope it's not *too much* advice, I just have battled adult acne my entire life it seems (caused by a med I take). I just continue my topical regimen and all is well. In my case, stopping smoking actually REDUCED my acne, but I understand that isn't the case for everyone... .Good luck.

It’s not actually terrible now...
when I saw her it looked real bad and she prescribed me thos e really simple one-size-fits-all drugs (I forget the name) but they didn’t work. We spoke at length about diet and then she said that she is happy to prescribe the serious drugs.
Something I’m not prepared to do.
I took all her tips about diet, did a lot of reading, I seem to have fixed all but a few.

No way that I would ever take proper drugs, it’s just not that bad. Just quite a few on my forehead.
After living 25 years with next to nothing it is really taking its toll and I just want them gone.

PG. Get that stuff @stols001 is giving a go. Max vg with 5-10% dw. Have you tried reducing pg? When I cut any pg outside of flavors my skin and scalp issues showed improvement within a week. Don't beat yourself for vaping. Some of us need it as much as we needed our smokes.

Thankyou but I vape 100% vg which has vg concentrate.
It’s either hormones up in a mess or vaping :(

Guess I’ll try some probiotics next but then it’s gotta be a gradual reduction of nicotine and then 0.
I really enjoy vaping though so it’s bad news if that’s the case.

Obviously the benefits of vaping far outweigh smoking but it’s a little annoying when people just won’t accept any negatives; minus the famous %5 and the infamous PG allergy (not you @Letitia ;), just a coincidence).

It’s clear (I’d hope) to people that I am not a newbie and I don’t want vaping to be the cause. Obviously

I’ve seen pockets of people speaking about this so it’s not isolated to just me.
I wish I’d come to the idea before...

My PG sensitivity did not cause zits, although I wasn't vaping it long. Before going down the PEG400 road, you might try just the PG in flavoring (if I keep my PG under 10% I can tolerate it) the rest VG and 10% Distilled Water. It's actually a rather nice vape, it improved the flavor when I added the DW, which I was not expecting.

Just go back to the dermatologist, if your zits are that small, I'd think clindamycin cream and retin-A would do the trick. They are both topical.

Although, you could certainly TRY PEG400, I got mine (UPS grade) from Amazon and started with a small bottle, that I just mixed up.

If your zits are so puny, I don't get why ANYONE was offering you Accutane. That drug is ONLY on the market because TRUE CYSTIC acne can be so awful. I've seen pictures, and honestly, cystic acne is probably CAPABLE of ruining a person's life and/or building backbone. I guess you got an "aggressive" dermatologist. I wouldn't take it either, even though I've taken it before and done fine. It has been "suggested" occasionally, as a way to get my zits in full remission, but no thanks. I'd rather use retin A and not have any side effects, other than a need to use sunscreen which I would do anyway, living where I live.

Tell your dermatologist she doesn't need to eradicate every zit that has ever presented itself on any human. And, I'm glad that you are returning to vaping, rather than just going to smoking. Job well done, in my opinion.

If you would like! ;);)

Just kidding. No, it just came to mind as I was writing it. Didn’t want it come across as a ‘spanking’.

As I said, it’s really not that bad and I’m going to try @stols001 recommendation of retinA and stuff.
Hopefully I can get my skin back. I’m sure you can tell that I’m a little overly concerned. I shouldn’t be, there are worse problems but I just want them gone! Clear skin was something I never valued or cared about as I eat the worst diet and smoked like a trooper.

Have you considered the possibility that it is the metal in your coil that is causing the problem? It might be that if you aren't already using SS coils, that might help.

I do hope something does help you and that you don't have to give up vaping.

@Letitia. Don’t fret. You always knew that we was only in your head.
:lol::lol:

Thanks @PJReid
That’s an idea! I just bought a lot of kanthal though...
Yeah I hope so too.
If people saw what I’m worried about they’d only laugh.
I know that, but it really bothers me

It could be the aluminum in Kanthal. I have read that certain metals can have an effect on antioxidants. Good luck!
