Thought I'd post my 'success' story here. I've been a smoker for 19 years, and have been analog-free for over 2-months. The real problem of smoking was... I loved it. Most smokers say how much they hated it, and wanted to quit. I was the opposite. I loved smoking, and that was the hardest part.
I can't tell you why I tried vaping... To be honest, I think it was initially the price comparison. Six dollars a day was really just pissing me off.
I started off with your run of the mill gas station ecig... then to the mall ecig... I knew there was potential in this, and did my research. With the help of ECF and GrimmGreen; I've never looked back.
Crazy thing is... I prefer vaping much more than I ever did smoking. Not only the cost savings; but also health wise (my blood pressure was high) and the smell from analogs was disgusting. My wife is a smoker, and those of you who have a spouse/significant other who smoke are scared to quit because it would seem impossible. Trust me, it's not. My wife has cut back and does vape occasionally.. but she still prefers analogs. But what I will say is... I can't stand analogs. The smell and taste is rancid. Kissing her sometimes is just... bleh.
I feel confident that I'll never switch back to analogs; and have zero desire to go back. I even tried a couple drags last week and couldn't stomach it.
For those who are considering switching to vapor; give it a shot. Don't be hell-bent on recreating your analog experience either. I spent almost a month trying to find a substitute for my analogs (flavor). I experimented with various non-tobacco flavors and glad I did. I rarely vape any tobacco flavored juice.
Anyway, thanks ECF, GrimmGreen and the entire vaping community!
