New here, new to vaping. *waves* I ghosted around here quite a bit before I made the switch though. Got my starter kit from LeCig last week and I'm slowly growing to love it! :) I still have to have an occasional analog but I'm down to 2 a day from a pack to a pack and a half a day 28 year habit. I'd tried to quit a number of times, the longest for 7 months, but it was always hell til now.

I tend to be one of the strange ones, I LIKE the smell of analog smoke. I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that my grandparents smoked like chimneys when I was little, so the smell connects to good memories. Even after being only mostly smoke free though the taste of analogs is horrible and the sides of my tongue burns, which I think means that my taste buds are starting to recuperate? Anyway, I'm more than happy right now to be down to just the 2 and really hope the need for those will eventually go away. Right now it's like I hit a certain point and just can't go any further without just one. :p

I still like the smell of fresh cigarette smoke. I think I always will. I have never liked the smell of stale cigarette smoke which is stuck to clothing, hair, the car..etc. So that part being gone is great. I still hang out with the smokers at work during smoke breaks and vape my 510 right along with them. When they put theirs out, we all go in. It works. Many look at me with amazement as to how I am still getting by just with my e-cig.

As far as your situation... you could do what I did since you are only down to 2 a day. Buy a pack and when its gone, its gone. Buy your very last pack of cigarettes and make them last as long as you can.. while you are doing this you are removing your dependence for analogs while pacifying your cravings with your ecig. You might become dependent upon your ecig which is still better than analogs, so make sure you have juice and equipment.

Crazy me, I even like the smell of embedded smoke. After my mother-in-law passed away we brought some of her things home with us. Even her 6 month old computer is infused with the smell. Somehow it's comforting, don't ask me why. I have found though that the more I use my PV the less of siren song the smell becomes. Hallelujah!

Yeah, I'm right there with you and thanks for the suggestions. I bought what I intend to be my last pack of analogs the day I got my kr8 and there is still at least a quarter of a pack left. I think I smoked four the first day and have dropped that number each day since. Today I've only smoked one! :thumbs: I'm already planning on stocking up and just ordered a JC sampler pack to see what tastes best. Now as long as I can keep my experimenting below the analog cost per month price... lol

I've thought about that too. But then I think about the affects of smoking tobacco. I look at it as 2 choices. 1) We do not know the long term affects of vaping. And 2) We do know that tobacco kills over 440,000 in just America each year. So my chances are "way" better vaping, because tobacco is sure death. 100% vs the Unknown. I'll take the unknown! I smoked Marlboro for 44 years. I have been vaping for 5 Months this coming Saturday. I'm still amazed at the ease of quiting tobacco with the e-cig.

Just a quick update:

Seems I have finally kicked the habit completely. The first urge to smoke an analog hit at 4pm today and I lit up, only to put it out three puffs later. Suddenly I can't believe I actually inhaled those things for this long! Looks like I am now officially a reformed smoker and die hard vaper! :D

Congrats Stormfinch. Enjoy the life changes and benefits that come with Vaping. Like I said, make sure you always have a charged battery, a spare atty and plenty of juice and you'll have analogs beat, for good.

@Rosa; ROFL! I'm sure Tractor Supply must carry something like that. Heck, I saw anti monkey .... paste there the last time I went in.

@Ragman; Thanks.
IYHO, how much is enough when it comes to spare parts, and batteries specifically, or is there ever enough? lol
I know I want to order at least one car charger in case the power ever goes out, (We tend to get some nasty ice storms here in the winter months.) and of course blank carts are on my next shopping list. As far as batteries go though I currently have two that I switch between throughout the day but know I should have spares. (and what is the best way to store spares?) Also, is a pass through a necessity? I've seen them mentioned often around the forum, but due to health problems I tend to be pretty much home bound, so I don't usually get very far from an electrical outlet.

And yeah, I'll second the vote for the Unknown.
