Had the Smoketech DCC tank leaked about 4 ml into my pocket and into my mouth tonight. I've had no problems with it for the last week. No leaking in the slightest. Tonight (first time I took it out of the house) I took it with me out for a few drinks with friends and I stepped out for a puff with the stinkys. Reached into my pocket and it soaked. lost about 4ml into my pocket. Sad thing was i didn't notice the wet until i went to take a puff and got a mouthful of juice.

So now I feel sick and i have to wash my winter coat and lost 4 ml of my fav juice (Boss Killa Vanilla).

Crap ... I didn't know they would ever leak. I enlarged the hole with a slot but didn't have any problems until now.

Anything I can do to fix it?

I did clean the burrs off. I don't think it slid up either. Just started to dump into the carto and leak out the mouth piece and at the battery end. Flooded the carto with all the juice.
The bad part is I don't have any cartos to replace it with.

I am sure there is a vendor that is close to you that can get some to you in a hurry ;)

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

Sorry, not trying to HJ this thread, but. Is it safe to assume that it is primarily the tanks that do this? Is it wise to holster yer PV when not in use? I tend to spend the whole day in coveralls and do not want to experience the above tale first hand. Maybe a pocket case of some kind would be wise?

I think the cold-hot pressurization could be a major factor with tanks, being this is the first winter we've experience with them. The pressure condenses in the tank while subjected to cold, then you stick it in your pocket (next to your body heat) and the pressure increases. These things have a high margin for possibility of failure. Inspecting the o-rings and changing the carto would be the proper fix.

The cartos were NOT designed to perform as we have adapted them to do in tanks. With this in mind, we should expect inconsistent results. Imagine you have a Yugo (remember those?) and suped it up to go really fast. Would you be surprised if the wheels fell off above 100 MPH? I wouldn't. It wasn't designed to perform like that.

I don't remember hearing of these leaking other than someone pulling the tank off the carto. Thats why I posted.

The juice cleaned out of my jacket just fine ... but it was a rough night because I was out having a few drinks (a trigger for me) and the friends I was with were stinkys so they were going outside a bit, and there I was without juice.

I think I will keep the tank in the house and carto outside from now on.
