Cool! I'll be very interested to hear what you think of the MNKEs. The Orbitronics (PD) are really not good for mech/SLR Lots of batteries outperform them until below 3.8-3.7V; at which point we're switching batts anyway. I forget, do you have a VV device? (they are good for that)

I have no vv's. Well.. I still have the VAMO but it doesn't get much action lately, as in the last 3 or 4 months.

Aside from the VAMO I have a broken Sig #8, a working Sig #19, the EA mod and the REOs.

Aww people, don't torture the baby 14500s with 4 or 5 amps. They may just be up to it, but they will drop too low after the first hit off the charger. They are great little performers for a stealthy vape, but I try to get a coil around 1.5 ohms with a much thinner gauge wire. I use 0.16mm for them.
You have Grands for the big man stuff =)

Yeah, you're right ChrisEU.

I shouldn't even be considering placing this little guy in harm's way. I have no doubt the little REO could handle it but it would be a damn shame for me to damage a rare device like this taking a risk I know well how to avoid.

Thank you for offering a voice of reason :)

However... I will have a keen eye for some 8-10a 14500's... if they even exist..

You know.. even then I think they would have their place, even at the expense. The batt is small capacity as it is. If I could get a safe 10a out of it I'd be delighted with 300mAh. It wouldn't last long but it would pack a heluva punch. It'd be the Derringer of vapes! I'd just do as I mentioned earlier and reserve it for higher nic juice and not use it for long sessions like work or a road trip...

Speaking of road trips :D

All cleaned up and ready for a trip to Dr Rob :)
The broken piece of plastic went down the sink drain before I noticed it was gone. Not the whole housing just a little strip of plastic along the top of it.
Cleaned up really well, I think. If anyone has any suggestions for polishing this finish, even if it's "don't do it", they would be most welcome. I'm wondering if this finish could even withstand a good polishing... strictly because I know nothing about nickel plating.

Ok this is where I have to apologize, for even thinking of misusing this device. Now, I try to be considerate of others and their opinions about things like safety and proper use. Normally I would take any risk I deemed potentially worth the potential reward, because it's mine.

I pledge, to the good people of REOville, that I will never knowingly misuse this rare and (to me at least) coveted, nickel plated, miniature, bad motha &$#?a of a device.

You won't actually damage the device by going crazy with the power - they can take it or the spring will collapse. But the battery size 14500 is too small to hold enough energy, plus, battery cell manufacturers concentrate their development in the common 18650 size, which is used for power tools and electro mobility.

yeah, I wasn't going to mention that. Why? I guess I thought dear old Stats shouldn't start tilting at windmills. Also, despite not damaging the mini, pushing a batteries limits isn't something I'd recommend (not necessarily for Stats, but for the casual passer-by reader). But yeah, go nuts, old pal.

Karen is a REO guru, enthusiast, historian, collector, technical advisor, and just one all around sweet lady.
Were luck to have her here.

My vote for REO queen

You took the words out of my mouth Bob. We are very fortunate to have her riding shotgun with us :)

Damn straight she's a double guru :)
