This mod is called 'The Precious-L'

YouTube - Stainless steel new L (without JD)

It looks really cool and I want one but it looks really complicated.

The problem for me starts in the video at around 3:27

He goes into some kind of menu mode that you can only tell by the color and the blinks of the light and then changes the voltage variations. It looks complicated (did I mention that already?).

This is one of those mods that looks like I would have to spend a week at home with just to figure it out. I hope it comes with highly detailed instructions. I can just imagine being out at a party with this this mod, and it accidently gets pushed into menu mode and now no longer works properly.

Speaking of menu mode...At 2:09 in the video he hooks it up to the computer. I hope that you could just adjust the voltage variations through the computer instead. Does this mod come with a program disk?

Check out the specs here The Precious - L v2 - The Precious

One of the specs states...
* touch sensor, senses your fingerprint not the push! (pocket safe)

I don't know about it sensing your fingerprint. I think the button is more like a heat sensor. Which means that it could go off in your pants pocket if the button is against your leg, but thats really the least of my worries because of the fail safe that it has. There was another video where this mod was put under running water to show you that it is waterproof and the button was being activated by the water.

All in all, I would still buy one, but I would probably wait a bit after it's available to see what other people review about it.

straight from the link you posted:

ettings that can be changed through a computer application by connecting an adapter instead of the atty:

* voltage
* stealth mode
* LED brightness in standby mode (stealth and normal)
* auto shutdown period if left unattended in standby mode (1-250secs), can be turned off
* LED color times when activating the atty (default 0-8secs green, 8-12secs orange, 12-15secs red)
* activation cutoff timer (default 15secs cutoff)

That touch sensor is probably similar to the one on the Saber Touch. It works by sensing when you comlplete an electrical circuit by touching the switch and the body at the same time (microvolts, you can't feel it).

Looks like a pretty awesome mod, especially if you like LEDs (I don't). That page of specs is pretty impressive. Using a computer interface to set the voltage reminds me of how "The Pulse" is supposed to work when it comes out later this year.

***I would think the sensor would be like the iphone screen. it doesn't go off in your pocket or anything, needs bare skin to set it off. Now if you were to put it in your underwear that might be a problem but the sensor should be safe on the mod in your pocket as long as your skin doesn't keep brushing against it
