Thank all of you for the warm wishes....

For those who haven't seen some of my early pics and don't mind me being a bit narcissistic....here is a tidbit that might explain the squirrel in my avatar.
And this is the most important person in my life...my wife Margie

I really miss it for sure. I'm a sentimental old sap.

A puppy would not run away and jump up a tree and leave us. :)

Congrats, Wader.
I recently saw a show about lottery winners. They had this one guy on who always fed the squirrels in the park. One day, he feeds some type of very rare squirrel - can't remember if it was the color or what. He claimed that the Native Americans believed that it was life changing lucky to come across one of these squirrels. The next day he won a million dollar house!
So, if I haven't lost you yet with my poor story telling ability, did you save these squirrels before or after you got that job at V4L? Your reply may influence my plans for tomorrow seeing as the power ball lottery gets drawn tomorrow night. LOL.

We had had those squirrels for about 4 months when I started at V4L. We released them around a month later. Around 5 months we kept them before releasing.

Great post !! Who is Tim? :?:

Tim helps out in Customer Service these days.

Wade..great post and pics! We are all glad you got the job! Can't think of a better guy. Say hi to Margie for me!

Waving and throwing kisses to MaryKay. I've been too quiet MK, sorry. I almost tried to keep a baby possum that got closed up in our porch this past fall. It was kinda cute in an ugly duckling sorta way.

I had lots of possums around my house and the grove of pines next to us in St. Cloud (fl) and let me tell you they do NOT make nice pets. I tried to throw a one over the fence that I thought my dog killed. That tail whipped around my arm and I swear the dead thing smiled at me with a mouthful of shark teeth! he was just playing "possum" and for some reason I forgot they did that! I held my arm over the fence for the longest minute and a half of my life until he let go and toddled off.

yes you have been quiet miz Margie..come post with us in the Women's Room!

I'd say that I wouldn't let her.....but you all know that that isn't how it works. Can you see me with an opossum on my sholder?

Don't answer that!

But but but it was sooo cuu uuu uuute, and about the size of a small kitten in this photo, the darn thing got closed in with the mama and I chased off the mama and didn't even realize Baby got left behind. It survived and thrived tho... kept coming back all summer and got bigger and BIGGER and

Hey Wade, I had a "pet" opossum, too, when I was a kid. And raccoons. Released them all and like your guys, they thrived and hung out forever. Raccoons have the coolest little "hands"... they play ROUGH when they get big, tho!

Rescued an opossum that had been badly rolled by a car once, in my early twenties - it was dazed but not badly injured. My husband and I were visiting with his parents and got home late. There was no turkey baster or syringe in the house, so we fed it with his Mom's douche syringe.

The marriage didn't last...

Hey Auby! My mom had a pet .... when I was young. My dad finally built a cage and moved it outside cause it was tearing up the couch. Can't imagine an opossum!

My dad raised chickens....in the city. The whole neighborhood thought it was cool, but the city finally made him quit. Now he's in living in the sticks in Missouri and has chickens and ducks again. Fresh eggs every morning! Funny thing is...after all these years raising chickens he developed an allergy or something to eggs. Can't eat 'em anymore!

I guess I been around critters all my life.....
