Just wanted to let you all know something I did worked for me,
My 510 atty on my Protege was sounding funny when I held it to my ear and wasnt working as well as it did when it was new, I used it for a week with HEAVY vaping as I was new to it and in exactly 7 days was seeming to start to not work as well,

note: I disasemble my protege every night down to the switch and clean it with a dry cloth, I blowclean my atty out every night from the bottom.

So what I did was put on a NEW atty that I was recommended to get by Casey just in case :)( THANK YOU CASEY! ):) and was back in business,

Then I took the poor working atty and I submerged it in LISTERINE for 8 hrs, I Pulled it out and it looked Clean as a whistle, appeared Brand New inside, I Blowcleaned it out and set it upside down and forgot about it, just put it on now 5 days later and :evil::evil:GUESS WHAT!:D:D:D

sattec member recommends Crest Pro Blue for cleaning attys.

A lot of people use PGA for cleaning attys. sattec chose Crest Pro Blue specifically for people who don't want alcohol in the house. It works ok, but I didn't get the results some people have. And it takes a lot of rinsing or soaking after the mouthwash soak to get rid of that minty fresh taste and whatever else it leaves behind.

Did you rinse the atty out after soaking in Listerine? Use one of the flavored kinds or the original Listerine? Any after taste when you first started using the atty?

I Did Not Rinse the Atty out after soaking in Listerine, I just blew it out with a airline at work, When I fired it back up it gave a little bit of listerine taste but went away, The Type I used was LISTERINE Total Care (6 benefits in one) and is purple in color (Fresh Mint Flavor).

Hope that helps, Anymore Questions feel free to ask :)

Might wanna rinse or soak 'em with water next time. :)

That kind has 21.6% alcohol (42 proof) and also contains phosphoric acid which many speculate is the *active* ingredient in cola when used for soaking attys.

Might have to try that stuff...

Hey man, vape all that minty freshness you want! :D

I have seen video of someone using a dc adapter plug to apply voltage to an atty while it was filled part way with hydrogen peroxide to boil it in there. WAY too much trouble for me. 8-o

If the mouthwash works, I'd just keep using it. Sounds like you got the best of both the alcohol and cola worlds.

Unless it's 90% H2O2 I don't think you'll get any results at all.
90% will take your flesh off so I'd wear gloves. I've used it to clean skull mounts many times.

Normal H2O2 isn't strong enough to cut the crystalized cake. I tried but *Nothing*

When I was using 510's daily I'd cycle them every few days through an everclear wash followed by a hot water flush. Let them dry and vape. Most have lasted better than 4 or 5 months.
