I just got an MVP 2 Monday and love it, still green ! I'm rather a dunce about settings, getting more vapor than I need on settings it came with and am using the tanks off my evods. That is my question: Is the resistance on the MVP known to be accurate or am I looking at right numbers? One reads 3.1, the other 2.8 from a box that states they are 2.4 ohms. that is assuming the top button shows with the "R" next to the ohms that looks like an "A" ? I am curious which is wrong, the atomizers or the MVP as I do plan to try my hand at rebuilding these and hoped to not need an additional meter.

I am happy with the EVODS but know once I learn this thing, I will appreciate the long battery life!

on the MVP,
--
-holding both buttons:
-first display is, Coil Ω
-second display is, Charge Remaining in internal battery
- - -
>push and hold (top button) "P" for watts control
>push and hold (bottom button) "U" for volts control
-the first display will always be Puff Counter (0-999)
(which actually just counts how many times you push your Fire button)
-second number displayed is adjustable setting (v or w)
--it is EITHER volts OR watts, never both
--3 clks off / 3 clks on (puff counter resets to "0" each time)
-- MVP memory maintains until you change it

I'd bet on the MVP and say it's a connection issue and or coil wrap issue

did you try another coil to sample test

:)

When you checked the ohms on said atomizers were they dry or wet with juice? That can changed the resistance of the coil and change the reading a bit. The heating of and cooling of a coil can cause a change in the reading of a coil. It's no surprise to get a little change between the stated ohm and the ohm output reading.

Thank you! I was wrong, it was holding both buttons I got the ohms. I have not tried other coils, only tried the 2 I have filled and with your great instructions, read the same, 2.8 on one, 3.1 on the other. In the morning, I'll change the atomizer on one and retry.. Both work ok, just puzzled by the readings, if they are that far off why do they bother selling 1.8, 2.0, 2.2 or 2.4 atomizers? It's working, taste great, more vapor than I'm use to, maybe just use it and not worry about it.

Both were filled, ones I was using on Evod batteries.

From what I've read online, and through my limited experience, the MVP 2's resistance meter is pretty accurate. Of course I've only ever compared it to my iTaste SVD, but they both always give me the same Ω reading. Which is why I think that pufZeppelin is correct, and it's the coils not the MVP. The resistance of a coil can vary from what is written on the box/coil quite a bit, for instance I've had 5 packs of 2.2Ω (Protank 2) coils that were anywhere from 2.0Ω-2.8Ω. Also, when I test the resistance of a new coil (in a full tank), the resistance is usually way off until I fire the device at least once.

Another tip, when you want to change the Watts/Voltage you have to hold the P/U button down until it shows you your current setting, and then before the current setting disappears you just press the button again to change the setting up (you can't go up/down, you have to cycle through by going up). This took me a couple minutes to figure out when I received my MVP, so I figured I would mention it.

They sell 1.8, 2.0, 2.2, 2.4, etc....because ya gotta start & end somewhere I guess, lol. No they are actually good ohms for the types of batteries (regulated) they are used for. If you checked your atty's on a meter it should read them exact because it wouldn't heat up the atty and no juice should be present. I'm thinking in terms of building coils of course so everything is bare bones until everything is tested.

Thank you all! Wow, I feel like I know how to use this thing now (I did read everything in the box) ! Pulled out my old Rivas and ordered EVODS beginning of June due to illness, could not smoke at all. Made it through until EVOD kits arrived and then it got easier, they work great, can't believe how much better equipment is now from 2 years ago. I wanted to try the MVP as I was charging 3-4 batteries a day. Hubby quit same time to support me, throwing out 1 1/2 cartons of cigs and we're both doing well. I just don't trust my brain yet, I have trouble focusing on one thing for long but we're both not getting grumpy - that's a biggy!

Dont own a MVP, but have used plenty and have friends with them. They are fairly accurate at reading impedance.

As stated, the issue is with the clearo heads. The stated impedance rating is a rule of thumb at best as their QC is rather lacking. You might also notice that sometimes you get one that lasts a couple weeks and another that is toast in 2 days (or even just DOA from the pack).

One way to help mitigate this is to use the wattage setting instead of voltage. Obviously this does not take care of the reliability issue though.

You could also learn to rebuild the atty heads om your own, which is a bit of a PITA because of how little room you have to work with but quite a few do this.
Option 2 is to just buy something that is designed to be rebuild (ie Kayfun) and of course option 3 is to simply accept this as fact and throw yourself upon the mercy of the ever so skilled Kanger coil building technicians.
