I am a two month convert to vaping and have purchased the itaste mvp last week which has worked great.....until the third charge. Anyone know if there is something special i need to do as far as reseting or pushing a series of buttons a certain way to get it to charge? When i plug in the charger to the small port, the push button light quickly goes through all three colors then rests on the red light. It will stay on that red light and not charge. Left it alone twice for hours. I even tried it on my cell phone charger with no luck. The two times prior that it did charge, the light was green during charge if i remembrr correctly and the light was off when fully charged. Unfortunately there are no instruction included with this device from the manufacturer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry you're having this issue- I have the MVP and no problems at all. are you turning it off before charging? click the power button three times quickly and test that it is off by hitting one of the VV buttons, then try charging.

are you plugging the USB into your computer, a USB hub or a wall adapter?

where did you get the MVP? have you tried to contact the vendor? what warranty was offered?

Thank you for the reply. I bought it through akavapors.com. I have tried charging through my computer desktop, then this morning plugged the supplied usb chrager to an adaptor that i use for my ejoy batteries in the wall.
There is no turning it off or on as it appears as it is dead. The only time i see any life in it is when i plug in the charger. When i plug it in it goes quickly through the red, yellow, green light and then rests on red. At this point when i do the three button click, it flashes red then settles down to a steady red.
I have just discovered that the voltage display, when first plugged in to the charger, displays what looks like a 1, three horizontal lines, and another 1, then quickly goes to the normal puff and voltage display.
I have just sent an email to the manufacturor in China. I will contact akavapors after i get a few responses from this posting. I am new to vaping so i dont yet know how well service is from the different vendors. I was just hoping i was doingsomething wrong.
I used it up through watching ironman at the theater yesterday and it died toward the end of the movie. It was red the last hour i was vaping.

I hope this helps - I googled and found the manual on line

http://www.meshweaver.com/temp/vaping/INNOKIN_ITASTE_MVP_USER_MANUAL.pdf

From Page 4:
The unit requires approximately 3.5 to 5.5 hours to fully charge dependant on the discharge state of the battery – you are able to use the device whilst it is charging via its pass - through functionality. However it is not a true direct current pass - through and still relies upon the battery to deliver working current.

(is your Output switch set to Off ?)

because you're seeing that weird display, I'm guessing it's an error code of some kind, but can't quickly find any info with a google search.

I would contact the vendor, explain the situation in detail and ask for a replacement if still under the vendor's offered warranty. I just looked at the website you purchased from and they only offer a 7 day return period... bummy.

Yes, the output button is switched to off. I cant turn it off via the three clicks because it is dead. When i plug it in the charger and there is signs of life, the three button click does not work...it wont turn off, only flashes red forca bit and settles to red.
I let it charge about five hours last night, and when i woke up all exited about using it, it was still red. That is when i tred a new charger wnd posted here for possible help.
So, im am watching it again hoping it will turn green.

Thank
you for all of your quick

responces....and the instruction manual helped because now i feel confident that it isnt something i am doing wrong.

Thank you for that. It is spot on. I have just scripted an email to AKAVAPERS and have copied and pasted this forum thread so they can see the possible problem. I received it withing 7 days of today so hopefully they will honor the warranty. Thanks all for the help. It takes EFFORT to go out of your way to help and I appreciate it.

Glad I was of some help. I also have an MVP...one of the very first ones. If you get a good one, it's a nice VV device. Good luck and hope you at least get a replacement.

I have a MVP coming through a co-op and on unrelated note - someone I know who has one mentioned that when the puff counter gets to 999 it does some crazy reboot of the device and can short your attys out?

so he has to clear the puff counter before it gets to 999 - anyone else have to do this?

mine should be here in the next 2 weeks hopefully and hopefully the vendor will get you out a replacement!

Yes, it does, when rolling the puff counter from 999 to 0, do what some are calling a "cleaning cycle". Probably won't short out anything on it, as it's less then the normal time out function. Just surprising as heck when it fires itself and doesn't seem to want to stop!

It will stop. It's just the adrenaline that makes it seem like forever. I've had it happen with various carto, clearos and tanks, and no damage to any of them. (Yet?:evil::evil:) But if you're concerned, just power the MVP off and on to reset the counter, or be quick to unscrew your atomizer when it happens.

I wonder if it's the charger?

I have one as well, and do really like it a lot. Hope you hear from them! Keep us posted.

I think it could be, I just got here via google search as my itaste vv stopped charging after just over a week of use. Found some other forums with vapouerers with the same no charge issue. Sure enough I plugged in my usb for my phone and it's charging just fine.

Seems Innokin cheaps out on their chargers, so if anyone else is having issues, before thinking it's the unit itself there's a good chance it could be the charger. Try another charger that fits, it's a common micro usb so your phone charger might work, if not you can find one at any electronics store. Word is it's the same as most Nokia's.

Actually, the charger is internal, such as it is. But the cable is another story! Constant flexing can easily break a wire inside it. Hope that's all your problem is!

I usually use a retractable I purchased separately. Doesn't have the extra ports, but heavier wire, cost less than $10. Plug it into a 2 amp 5 volt wall wart. Any USB with 5 volt output and high enough mAh rating should work fine. (Be sure you get the MICRO USB, not the mini!)

If you dont end up sending it back and are electricly and mechanicaly inclined take off the bottom and top plates and test out the baxk side of the micro usb port and the usb output I think you have a hard short on the usb charger input.

When plugging it into the charger sometimes on rare occasion the pinns in the female end on the mvp can bend or break off in the inside ... They bend and touch each pther causing the short and this will through an error code same as hard shorting the battery before the processer board.

Check for bent pinns or loose connection at the charger port
