I ordered the OG today. VW isn't a big enough reason for me to wait for the 2. I work 12 hour shifts and sometimes am not home for a day at a time so the the internal 2600 mah battery was just too ideal. Anyway, I'm wondering about clearomizer connections. I have EVODs and just ordered a Protank 2. Does 510 threading work better with the MVP? Are there issues with the eGO threading? How do people like their MVP's?

I've used the search, but it seems like there are a couple different MVPs where the ego threading wasn't available.

I have heard that some people buy the iTaste purely for the fact that it does have both eGO and 510 style threads.
I have one and have since moved to mechanicals but while it was my only MOD, I loved it. The size, the feel in my palm, the battery was beyond awesome, and starting with a VV device helped me to find what I liked to vape.
I didn't run into issues with the eGO threads. The 510 threads however were a different story.
I used both iClear16's and EVOD's on the eGO connection and used a Protank and iClear30 on the 510 connection.

As far as eGo threading not being available...I've heard that some Chinese "clones" didn't have it. But I bought mine locally from my B&M shop so I got an authentic Innokin.

Good to know. It really seems like an ideal APV. It's cheap, lasts long and is diverse. I guess it's not more popular because it's kind of ugly. I'd love a mechanical mod. I work outside so durability is huge. I just don't get it though. How do you know your wattage? You know the size of your resistance, but how do you know the voltage? Do batteries put out a steady rate of voltage? Building atomizers seems daunting. You really can't beat a vaporizer without wires though. I've broken so many stick style batteries.

The 510 threads started to break down on me after about a month. Couldn't even re-tap the threads to make it work.
I had dropped it a time or 4 so that may have attributed but for now it is only a tester/EVOD MOD for me.

As far as all the mechanical questions and wonderings go, I'd start to do some reading. :) It's an amazingly complex world which is incredibly simple as soon as you get the hang of it.
I'd say for now, stick to the MVP and see how that works. If after a while you're craving more, more tinkering, more complex, more simplicity, more hobby-ist aspect, then start to look into mechanicals and rebuildables. For now, the MVP will do you quite well.

Mechanicals are a different type of MOD. It's pretty much just a metal tube with a battery in it. No wires, no electronics. Pushing up on a spring loaded button/magnetic button/touch button finishes the connection and fires whatever atomizer/cartomizer/tank you have attached.
Rebuildables generally refer to yes, rebuildable atomizers. Just means instead of the Protank head or iClear head, you rebuild the entire coil and wick to your suiting.

Wow thanks for the quick response. Just googled Mechanical Mods and found some interesting reading. One thing that makes me nervous is the lack of safety measures. It seems you could cook a battery pretty easily. So is the Eco-c considered a rebuildable atomizer since you can replace the head?

I started with an Ego-C and it was okay but decided to give it to my daughter who is just starting college. I decided to go with an Ego-C Twist with a Vivi Nova Tank.

BTW I quit smoking 8 years ago and boy it sure would have been easier with these! My oldest daughter got me started on Ecigs but I'm ordering mine w/o nic.

The very first version of the MVP only had 510 threading, but that was soon fixed. All current versions of the MVP on the market have both ego and 510 threading.

When using the 510 threading, please use the supplied beauty ring or other ego threaded skirt to safeguard the 510 connection of both the MVP and your juice delivery device. If dropped on the connector, any APV's 510 connector can break off, since most are press fit into the body of the device.

Some folks have connection problems when using cartomizers on the MVP, but some do not.

I've had my VV MVP for over 3 months, have dropped it and knocked it off the table several times with devices attached and it's still going strong.

When attaching any juice delivery device, remember SNUG not TIGHT. If you tighten something down too hard, you might push in the 510 connector pin or ruin your threads; also be careful not to cross-thread your devices -- so pay attention when attaching a device. DO not charge the MVP with a device attached to it, unless you're using it as a passthru. Also, for best results when charging, use a wall charger adapter for the supplied USB cable for faster charging.

yea I'm finding out that maybe the tolerance of the MVP 510/ego head
isn't as strict as one would like, so the practice of get the tank started
then look away while screwing it on , and when you FEEL it make contact STOP

don't try and seat the base of any topper tank down tight, just get the battery to make contact

(also just to be sure, remove mpt2 coil & re install tight)
:)
