Does anyone know if my husband can get on the airplane with this? It doesn't look like a cig a like. I am upset because my husband has quit for 7 months now and is heading out to meet our daughter so she has company driving back home. I mailed our spare itaste vtr to her and it says it was delivered but she never got it. :( I know for a fact if he cant take his on the plane he will start smoking again. He is leaving tomorrow and so i know for a fact i dont have time or the money to buy another one to mail my daughter another ecig for him when he gets there. He is flying air Canada within Canada. Has anyone here ever got on an airplane with one of these?

Good Day Deeo. I travel frequently by plane. I am not sure if it is the same in Canada, but here it is for the states.

For liquids he can take 3 - 3 ounce bottles on the plane in a one quart plastic bag. That is roughly 89 ml per bottle. Gosh that is ton of e-juice.
For the devices he can take them apart and pack them. Either carry on or checked.

I started vaping June 28th 2014. I have about 60 flights under my belt with my equipment packed in my laptop bag.
I have an MVP 2 with a kanger tank, and a mech mod and RDA>

I have been through security many times and no-one said anything. If they did I would take it out and explain to security exactly what it is. Vape gear is not banned from travel on a plane.
Some info here: TP 14628 E - Prohibited Items List - Transport Canada
If you like go down to the airport and grab a TSA agent and show/ask them!

Vaping is NOT illegal and the equipment is not dangerous. Also, you could pack his gear in checked luggage.

I personally would NEVER vape in the plane bathroom. I have heard some do. I have gone into the restroom at my connection and vaped in the bathroom at the airport.

All will be good!

Regards,

I've always done carry-on, sometimes connected on my lanyard, and one of my mods looks like a copper pipebomb... The TSA is surprisingly up to date and understanding of our tech. Don't vape on the plane or randomly around the airport and they don't get pissy. Heck, they knew what these were in 09 when I first started vaping. (surprised the heck out of me)

Shouldn't be a problem. I am on vacation right now... took my mech with RTA on it along with an MVP2 and tank... a bunch of stuff, and packed hundreds of feet of wire, Rayon, wire-cutters etc as well. I have pretty much always traveled with dangerous [or looking] stuff, and have yet to be asked to leave it behind or get arrested/etc. jinx ;)

My suggestion... any device with removable batteries, such as a mech, should be stored with the batteries outside of it.

If you are concerned put it in checked luggage. If they "find-it" they can only ask him to either throw it away, or put it in checked luggage before entering the secured area. Well, that is what I have seen them do with knives and guns. YES, you would be surprised.

"Well, Mr. TSA agent I thought it would be OK to bring my gun on the plane since it is apart and un-loaded?"

Vape gear is not illegal to bring on the plane. These agents screen people and luggage for a living and I can only imagine what they have seen. Thousands of people go through security a day, even in small airports. The TSA guys are there for your safety and generally "nice", I would not sweat anything that is not illegal.

If I were him, I would pack it up in his checked bag. The airports are very hit or miss on their knowledge of this stuff. I had my batteries taken from me in one airport, but in another, they didn't say a thing. Get him some nicorette or something for the flight if he needs it. A vtr is pretty expensive compared the the ego batteries I got taken from me, so I would certainly not chance it. And more importantly, not having is the worst part, cause then he will really want to smoke again.

Batteries NEVER go in checked luggage. All batteries need to be in your carry on. If something should happen, the battery is easily accessed to take care of.

Your husband will be fine taking an Ecig on the plane in his carry on bag.

I've been flying many, many times since I started vaping. Like was stated above, if there were any questions, a quick swab of the outside or someone handling it just to look over. Never has my PV been confiscated.

For the record, I carry with me (in my carry on) two Provari, two eGo twists, two kayfuns, a couple of Vivi novas. Extra batteries for the Provari. Chargers for all. Two + 30ml bottles of liquid. Screwdriver and extra wicking material.

I way over prepare for any eventuality.

I flew last month with some of my gear, batteries and juice all in my carry on. Security in here in Okinawa looked at my VTR (battery removed) they didn't know what it was but as soon as I told them they said ok and I was on my way. Going thru Chicago TSA pulled the same VTR (I had 2 in the bag) and she was at a loss and still confused when I told her - she swiped it the patch and it came away clean so I was good there. Nothing got looked at coming back.
