After I started vaping I got my step-father to start. So, he has been vaping about 3wks now and he is still craving analogs. As far as I know he hasn't had analogs. The problem is that he has been itching like crazy. He's had to use tons of lotion and take baths to relieve the itching. Is it possible this is caused by an allergy to PG or is it from quitting the analogs? He has been smoking for 60 at least a PAD. I mixed him up some VG juice for now.

Also possible that it's from the drying effect PG has, or maybe he's detoxing, shedding the old tired skin that cigarettes can cause. Make sure that he's keeping up with fluids, and more so than he was previously. If it's dry skin, frequent baths are only going to make it worse. Buy him some dove soap for in the bath, olive oil to slick on once he gets out of the bath (using it while still wet helps trap in the moisture), and the dermatologist suggested bathing routine is; if it ain't dirty, don't wash it. :)

Mine started after 2 months and switched to Vg juice and it helped a lot. However I still get some from some juices so could be certain flavorings. I just this last week bought some juice from Velvet vapors all natural flavor line in Vg and not having any problems. I find that I can still tolerate some pg about 10% so pg based flavorings have not been an issue just certain flavors and still trying to narrow them down so I can avoid them. Good luck it is maddening trying to find out the cause and not go back to analogs. But I would go VG asap.

Thank you all for the suggestions, I'll let him know. I hope he can stay at it, just talked to my mom and now he's smoking in between. I told her to make sure he's getting lots of fluid and not to use any of the juice that I had given him initially, just the pure VG I mixed up for him yesterday. Luckily, I like lots of vapor so I ordered the unflavored nic juice in VG and I have lots of VG on hand and I have plenty of HC root beer flavoring which is his favorite vape.

With that degree of itching, I would say the most likely culprit is PG. Have him try 100% VG juices. A lot of vendors sell it these days. Ecopure is one of the best-known.

Failing that, it may be the flavorings. This is very rare, but I've heard of it happening. If the VG doesn't help, try organic flavored juice. Clouds of Vapor sells them.

FWIW I started out with 100% vg juices and went that way for the first 3 months or so before I used any pg/vg mixes. I started itching when using nothing but vg. Curiously my itching was mostly around the ankles and feet. Being the most extreme of extremities that seems to make some kind of sense but none of that is rooted in science.

My main point is that I started with the itching using nothing but vg juices. In fairness though I believe the particular juices I used/use still have about 2% pg even though billed as total vg. Whatever, no science, just my personal experience and being better hydrated alleviated it

Thank god I aint the only one, I've been itching like CRAZY for 2 days now all around my feet and ankles, sometimes my fingers and the palms of my hand. I've never experienced anyhting like this and its kind of freaking me out. Plenty of hydration takes care of it??

You know, I wonder if the extremity (feet, hands etc.) itching has something to do with increased blood flow to those areas. It's a pretty common symptom in niacin users, (the niacin flush) runners, (happens in legs and feet) pregnant women, (increased blood flow systemically) and heart transplant patients. We know we've gotten rid of all the carbon monoxide and nasty chemicals we've been inhaling for years. It would make sense then that oxygen and blood flow are returning to areas that had decreased levels for years.

Funny, but I got a sample of Eco Pure Rich, after 1 day I was itching to high heavens, canceled my co op, bummer.
