Hello there im having exactly the same problem with ithaka clone shorting out and from reading the thread have been through the same process to diagnose problem . I even came up with using grommet from pro atomizer all by myself which I was very proud of but to no avail . Ive just managed to get a quick pull on a dual coil setup then nothing . Seems tightening or loosing the ithaka on the battery very slightly has effect . Any help or advice would be greatly recieved . Ive even considered buying a genuine gg centre post as I suspect this maybe the offending piece . Are the genuine ones different in any way ? Heres in Hope and thanks in advance
Christian .

So I learned that too many volts running on it is considered a short code with the provari. I can run 3v max which is fine since I'm running 1ohm dual coil. The pipette trick is the best one but I think it's the hard plastic piece or the oring causing the in alignment, not the post. The post is definitely straight is my conclusion so I've replaced those. The oring under the nut might be it too and putting a 2x2 oring under gives it some play so that's what I've done. I'm vaping like a dream on it.
