"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." (Mark 10:25 NIV)

The Great Sign, Richest Religion In The World....Christianity.

"And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by men. Truly, I say to you they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room (or closet.) and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret..." (Matthew 6:5-6 RSV).

Advocation for prayer in public schools

“Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak”-- 1 Corinthians 14:34)

sexism

A raped, unengaged virgin must marry her ...... and they can never divorce (Deuteronomy 22:28-29)

nice

“Happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us – he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.” (Psalm 137:9)

Do people really read and follow the scriptures, or just pick out the parts that comfort them.

You have twisted so much, and completely taken out of context, that I can't even reply to that. Maybe someone else can or will.

The 'love' of Money is the root of all Evil - (1 Timothy 6:10) While it may be difficult for a rich man to enter Heaven, it's not impossible. Nothing is impossible with God. - (Luke 1:37)

"And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by men. Christ taught His People to pray publicly (The Lord's prayer). In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. - (Proverbs 3:6)

Paul was addressing the 'unsaved' unruly Women of 'Corinth' that were married to believers.. they were to remain silent..

This was not one of God's laws.. this was a law added by Man. This is exactly 'why' God sent His son Christ to die on the cross for our Sins and to fulfill the Laws. Up until then it was apparent to God that Man loved Laws more than he loved God. "For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” - (Galatians 5:14)

“Happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us – he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.” (Psalm 137:9)

God will 'repay' and his judgement is righteous.

God offers us the 'bread of eternal Life' by believing on Jesus.. not a stone.
What can you bring to the table that is better than this?

I'm with Lisa. Do you really believe what you posted? Christianity is NOT the wealthiest religion. Out of all of the churches that call themselves Christian, the Catholic Church is quite wealthy. Non-Christian, Islam.

Where did you learn your interpretation of the Holy Scriptures? What church denomination do you belong to? Do you really read the Scriptures, or just pick out the parts that contradicts what you believe? I don't really see any true questions in your post. What I see is a .......ization of Scripture's meanings. That's not nice.:(

The first disciples of the supposed messiah were poor, they were a jewish sect called ebionites, this literally means the poor ones. the only difference between them and other jews, they believed messiah had come. saul/paul coined the term christian after he kills the ebionites. he brags about how zealous he was in killing them.

Constantine the great was a very clever man. rome was on the verge of collapse, there had been internal war and power struggles for thirty plus years, barbarians from the north were at the gates of rome, the roman treasury was empty. constantine gave the people of rome a new god to fight for. roman soldiers spread the good news of this new god to every corner of the empire, and the rest is history.

Im more bored than in a mood to debate. It would be like telling a Muslim that the Koran is not a peaceful book, or telling Republicans that we dont live in the 1800s anymore. Even when you are right, the denial will always remain.

And ofcourse man threw in laws, man wrote the bible, man also decided what books to keep in the bible, and which ones they didnt. Noone wants to read about a young Jesus killing other boys that opposed him, so they threw it out.

Where did I learn my interpretation of the scriptures? From unbiased research (yes, unbiased, I have hundreds of pro-god books). Unlike anyone who learned it in a church which is very biased obviously. I understand that it is faith, belief without evidence. It may seem that I am .......izing your beliefs, but I am not. (not in my mind anyways). I cant prove that Tom Cruise does not have mind powers that his religion gave to him, just as I cannot prove that religions were created as a form of social control and wealth making. We will all find out one day.

I find faith fascinating/ I find it fascinating that people will blow themselves up, or drink poison kool-aid, or let a crazy prophet impregnate them in waco all in the name of their beliefs.

I have always been a morally just person. i dont lie or steal or murder. I give more to others than I ever want to receive. And I can do all this without trying to please an invisible father figure that may chuck my soul into hell for all of eternity while the rest of my family watches from heaven. Strange to me that some people cannot.

But if I am bothering this forum, I shall go to the Outside forum. I just like to see the answers from the inside.

I've been a Christian for almost 26 years and I've done none of the above. I have a very strong faith, but yet I'm human and make mistakes.....all the time....not on purpose either. My feet are made of clay, but by Jesus' sacrifice and accepting Him as my Savior, I'm made righteous. It matters not how many good things I've done to help people.....you can't work your way into Heaven. Salvation is a gift, free for the asking. 'For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. There is none righteous, no not one.' 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.' You compare your deeds to man.....fallen man. I compare myself to Jesus, the only man who never sinned. Hey, I look good comparing myself to man.

Jesus preached more on hell than He did Heaven. Hell was not created for man, but for satan and his followers, 1/3 of the angelic realm. Unfortunately, many people will go there by their own choice. Mankind has a choice.....either with Jesus or not.

You believe the Holy Bible was written by man. I believe that God Himself wrote it through man. It is the inerrant Word of God. I am not a religious person.....hindus are religious. I'm a Christian, Praise to God! Hallelujah!:)

You've read books about God, but have you ever taken the time to get to know Him personally? If you did, you would feel very differently about Him. Jesus's whole message was about love. He was loving beyond belief, more so then you or I could even imagine. As He hung on the cross, He even forgave the ones killing and tormenting Him.

There is no love stronger then that, and that's how He feels about you. Take the time to get to know Him, through prayer, meditate on His gospel, and you will learn more about him then you can just read in someone's elses books about history and the origin of religion. Jesus is alive, He is the living God. He is just and true, but also full of love and ready to forgive if you just ask.

I'll reiterate my post. If you are sincere in seeking God, and have legitimate questions, please stay and read the posts. Join in the discussions. I don't presume to speak for everyone here, but I am questioning what is in your heart. If you are here to debate, IMO this is not the place for it.
