Hey.. lay off the bidi's. There was a special joy sitting at the base of a mountain with a long ride ahead of you, sipping on piping hot masala chai and puffing on a bidi. I integrated this as part of my Discover India tour through my college and university years.

God, they stank though.

The beedi is an interestinng thing. Although they were created as a cheap alternative to commercial cigs, they are wrapped in a leaf of a Tendu tree. This tree is also known as East India Ebony or Macassar Ebony - Diospyros melanoxylon. This is one of the more expensive hardwoods.

When it comes to growing things, my dad has a green thumb. I have the black thumb of death. I killed a cactus once.
I am a woodworker though.

Small stuff. Mostly wood turning. I usually loose interest in anything bigger then I can carry in one hand.
