It's working, only had 1 cigarette today.

I initially didn't intend to quit entirely, just slow down smoking. It's been about two weeks, and it's like every day I've wanted cigarettes less and less. I only had 1 today, and I didn't even really enjoy it too much. I've been using 3mg juice, cause I like to just smoke it a lot and I didn't want to go over on nicotine. Now it's like I'm not even craving cigarettes. I can't believe it really worked. I was really skeptical. It just happened tho. I hope this trend continues. Have to say, I like fruity sweet flavors way better than my rolled tobacco. Proof, it ain't "for kids" bull..... That's like saying adults don't eat candy. The people trying to get vape juice pulled can shove it!!!!

I wanna add too, and I'll try to keep track of this with time, when I pick up my vape, it doesn't feel the same as when I'd wanna go smoke a cigarette. Sometimes I can only take like 4 puffs and I gotta put it back down cause I'm working. It's more often, but I believe I'm I taking a lot less nicotine. Cause when I first started, I still had to smoke cigarettes. As my cravings for nicotine got less cause the smoking slowed down... It seems to have gradually went away.

Biggest one was also after meals... That seems to be gone now. And with my vape, it's not nagging at me to go pick it up after I eat. I feel like I can just vape at my leisure.

Well done, sounds like your well on the way to making the switch permanently. Your story sounds like mine, I never intended to stop smoking. When I tried vaping it was to just cut down the amounts of cigs I had each day.
As each day passed I found I was smoking less and less. For about 2 weeks I only had a smoke first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
The last cigarette i smoked i put it out as i preferred the taste and feeling of my vape. That was 7.5yrs ago and not touched a ciggy since.
    Keep it up.

Good job!! When I made the switch it was a one for one swap and no looking back. Until the third month and deer camp. I took a single pack of cigarettes for a 3 day weekend. Curious at that point to see if I still wanted to smoke. Thankfully I also took my vape supplies because cigs tasted like crap. Nearly 5 yrs later, they still do. Keep it up, you'll want tobacco less and less. This kind of thing irritates tobacco company reps immensely. Oops, they just lost ANOTHER lifelong customer's money. If this keeps up, they will have to use the government's propaganda machine to vilify vaping in every way imaginable.

    Way to go!!! :)

If you want to continue vaping fruit flavors you might want to consider DIY'ing your own juice next. Many of us here DIY.

You just described my experience 8+ years ago.

It's been about two weeks, and it's like every day I've wanted cigarettes less and less. I only had 1 today, and I didn't even really enjoy it too much. I've been using 3mg juice, cause I like to just smoke it a lot and I didn't want to go over on nicotine.
What kind of device are you using? 3mg strikes me as very weak sauce, unless of course you're huffing big clouds, rather than puffing like I did.

FWIW, I did "slow down" from 40+ a day to zero in less than a week, but using 18 mg, with occasional hits of 24 as well. I'm all the way down to 12 now.

Nicotine is not your enemy. Smoke is.

Almost 11 years ago I bought my usual carton of smokes and also one of these new fangled devices I had been hearing about. It was a simple 180mAh auto battery with a couple atomizers and I think 5 cartridges, each filled with a few drops of menthol flavored e-liquid. I never smoked any of the smokes. I was amazed that such a simple thing could replace my 45 year addiction to cigarettes. Notice I didn't say addiction to nicotine. It is not the nicotine that is the problem. It is the smoke. I vape 12 mg e-liquid. I can see no good reason for going any lower.

Within a very short time I had several 180mAh batteries and was buying e-liquid to refill the cartridges. In less than a year I moved up to longer lasting batteries and to making my own e-liquid. Today I am totally self sufficient other than having to buy 18650 batteries every few years
. I still try to help those that aren't as fortunate as we were back before the "powers that be" got their teeth in this miracle and started tearing it apart by keeping in contact with those that could do something for us if they only would. We that have been at this for a while could see what was coming so stocked up on what we would need to continue vaping no matter what happened. We learned how to make our own e-liquid and stored what we would need to continue making it. We learned how to rebuild our own coils. It is not too late for folks new to this life saving miracle to stock up on what they need.

As has been said over and over, don't count the ones you smoke, count the ones you don't smoke. You are doing great. Don't get overly concerned if it seems you are vaping more than you used to smoke. As I said before, nicotine isn't the problem it has been made out to be. It isn't what causes the health issues. It is the smoke from burning chemicals causing the health issues. If over time the 3mg nicotine isn't working don't fear raising the level. Through the years nicotine has been demonized to the point folks fear it. If truth was to be told it isn't any more dangerous than caffeine.

I don't think I ever would have quit had it been something that I demanded that I do. I had to basically say to myself that I wasn't quitting smoking and that I could smoke at any time and then every time I felt the need to I would just vape and the desire to smoke would go away. I haven't smoked a cigarette in around 5 years now I don't even remember how long it's been but it might even be sick years and I haven't went back to wanting to either. The smell makes me sick. You're doing great. And had their only been tobacco flavors on the market I would have never switched. Not only is that terrible from an addiction standpoint it's a literal trigger you would never ask an alcoholic to go into recovery by drinking non-alcoholic beer It's literally the definition of a trigger to be avoided. But in addition to being a literal trigger for addiction it doesn't taste as good as a cigarette did back in the day It wasn't the same. But that sweet and sour grape e-juice was just different enough that I liked it better

I had no intention to try again and quit smoking, in fact I was in the smoke shop to buy another pack. The line was too long so I was killin time looking at the ecig stuff on display. I ended up walking out with an eGo/CE4 starter kit, and haven't had a cigarette in nearly 8 years!

Congratulations! I bought my first e-cigarette with the intention of being able to puff in places cigs weren’t allowed, and weaning off the smokes. I ended up making a total switch the same day I received my ego & cartridge. Haven’t touched a cigarette since. This month marks 9 years since my last cigarette on April 15, 2013.

I wanna be honest. I had a horribly stressful day today. I chose to smoke like 3 cigarettes, but I don't feel like I've failed, cause it's still nearly 20 less than I normally would have. The vape is definitely working, I still don't wanna switch back to smoking, but I still have some cigs for times like this. Today was just monumentally ....ty for me. Everyday is somewhat of a total mental struggle, not to get too personal. But I can't lie. I really don't wanna just give up though.

Dont feel bad, you've NOT failed at all.
As you say your smoking less ciggies so that's a good thing. It doesnt matter if you continue smoking some ciggies and vaping at the same time, it's a personal choice and only you will know when it's time to switch. How long that will take, if at all, is anyones guess.
You do what feels right for you.
In my journey I always said to myself that if I want a cigarette I would, it's my choice. I was happy with myself for trying vaping and enjoyed it but did enjoy the few cigarettes I had each day. I did both for several months.
The thought of never smoking was the torture in my mind so just say to yourself if you want one have one.
I found the more I vaped the more I enjoyed it. I experimented with different flavors and bought a couple more vape kits which spured me on to vape more and more.
As I said before, my last ciggie was 7.5yrs ago and i do feel proud that i finally managed to stop smoking. Keep at it friend and good luck.

Back in 2010 I started vaping, not really expecting to quit, but maybe cut down on tobacco cigarettes. During the first week or two I realized that vaping 24mg juice was satisfying my nic needs. I finished my last pack of cigarettes and never bought another.

Over the first year vaping I lowered my nic level from 24mg to 3mg, which is where I've been since then. Even at a low nic strength I can sense the slight bite from the nic.

Don't know if you've tried this, but I picked up a disposable (tobacco flavored, 50mg) just for this purpose. Told the guys at the shop this was it. Have two flavors of 25mg nic salts, the rest is free base DIY.

That 50mg ugh tobacco flavor takes care of the urge from stress. I am picking it up less and less, and I even had a debit card breach during this time (no access to cash atm).

I was smoking 3 to 5 cigs a day (off and on since November) prior to last months final quit. Don't be ashamed to pick up a Juul, if you find that helps with stress. You won't be on it forever.

Your experience is similar to mine. I started to vape at 24mg strength and in less than a month, I stopped my two PAD Marlboro habit and never looked back. That was back in 2010 and I haven't wanted a smoke since.

I quit at 24mg strength and I've been at 3mg nic strength for about 12 years.
