I'd like to be able to make servicable drippers/mods with my own resources, just in case. Has anyone noticed prints for home made projects? If it hasn't already been done it might be an interesting open source project to protect the community.

Just go check out the modding forums, all kinds of Frankenstein builds and mad scientists in there
There are kits, schematics, diagrams, tutorials, and pics galore. The financial investment could exceed $100 for buttons, sled, mosfet, etc. as you sometimes have to buy parts in a 10+ order. Above all, if it's your first time trying to build a mod, please be careful and try to have a solid understanding of how to do it before you begin. Good luck and post the pics when you make one.
