I think it's because they're cheap, good quality, and plentiful in supply. I own an igo w & w4. For the price and availability, you can't beat them. Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer my tobh over the igo any day, but it's also 4x more expensive and in limited supply.
Most real omegas sell for $70-80. A real IGO-W is normally between $15-25. Huge difference in price range. They seem just as good as any other standard dripper I've tried. With a CIA halo top cap, you have adjustable airflow and you can remove the top portion of the cap instead of the whole cap or drip tip to drip. You're still at only about $50 with that top cap.
the Omega clones, and the others (taurus, patriot, etc) that are all fundementally the same go for like $6in FT and $12 on ebay too though. Just wondering, I guess, if I'm missing something. Since posting in this thread I've been keeping my eyes on some Igo w5l, which seems cool, kinda like a Helios.
