But now I'm back. I had problems with switching in the past, and I know that vaping was still kind of new 2 years ago. Now I'm ready to try again, using this person's method for switching. Tried cold-turkey and failed. Tried Chantex, had quit smoking for 5 months when stress forced me to go back to smoking. But now there is sooooooo many more options out there that I'm lost. My last setup that I had, like an idiot, I gave away.

I guess I'm lucky that there are several Vape shops that opened up around here, and I'm planning on going to one to get my start-up kit (around $50) plus they sell the juice at a reasonable price. Also planning on getting the DIY kit from DIYFlavorShack to make my own.

So, two questions from all this--
1) What should I look for my new start-up kit? The one I'm looking at reminds me of the old Joye Ego. And I'm planning on going for the biggest tank I can get so I don't have to refill as often.

2) My son wants to get into vaping. Since I don't want him to get hooked on the nicotine, going to help him with a cheap start-up kit with 0 nic juice. Any recommendations there? I should mention he is 19 and is old enough to start if he wants.

Hi there.
Things have moved on a lot in two years! I would suggest looking at the iStick by Eleaf (quite hard to get at the moment as they are selling like hot cakes) an MVP 2 or a Vision spinner 2. And for a tank an Aspire nautilus with BVC (bottom vertical coil) heads would probably do a great job.

I am sure others will come along with more suggestions but I hope that helps a bit.

Best of luck to you! :)

Welcome back! The good news is: you don't have to settle for something that reminds you of the Joyetech ego; they still sell them! :)

But in all seriousness, I'd probably go with an itaste MVP for the battery/mod part of the equation. The Eleaf istick mentioned above is apparently made by a division of Joyetech, but is indeed selling out rapidly. It's a little more powerful than the MVP, but looks pretty darn nice. If you've got patience, you can land one.

Unfortunately, I didn't use non-rebuildable tanks for very long. I think the big 3 clearomizers are the nautilus, aerotank, and protank, and most, if not all, come in a "mini" size should you get something along the lines of an ego battery. I think the full size versions would fit a little better on an MVP, and hold more liquid.

2) my son wants to get into vaping.

This baffles me...why the eek would you encourage that, zero nic or not....

He wants to start smoking, even to the point he tried smoking my cigs. If he is so determined, then why not start him on something that is safer for him?? I have tried to discourage him on that, but he is stubborn. Besides, if he doesn't like it, then there is more for me.
