It's been a long time since I've been here, maybe ready to quit?

You don't have to apologize to me. I know that most doctors don't know crap about vaping. The ones that think they do, don't know anything but what the ANTZ tell them.
The good news is that I hear all the time of doctors who tell their vaping patients they approve of it for staying off cigarettes, and one hospital physician was spotted with a vape sticking out of his pocket.

Doctors have been the victims of tobacco as much as anybody else. What they can say publicly vs. what they can say privately applies there as much as anywhere in this era of censorship.

Somewhere out there
I hardly inhale anymore and if I do it’s very shallow. Decided years back to give my lungs a break :) I enjoy vaping just for flavors, so not inhaling is no biggy for me. I am also finding I like things simple and have really been enjoying non leaking pods lately. LOL I am stocked to the gills, but a simple pod is just so easy :)

It's just that I've known two people who tried to reduce the nic level of their vapes, and ended up back on cigarettes. They both reported they walked in somewhere and bought cigarettes as if in a trance. Tobacco is a powerful demon. Vaping is that white oak stake.
Always be optimistic, there are also many people even successfully gave up vapings after doing best efforts to reduce nic. If we want, there should always be good ways to go, even thought may be tortuous sometimes:)

This thread has two pages already. There's not too much I could say that hasn't already been said. I'm not an inhaler, well maybe slightly I guess.., but mostly not. This is also the second recent thread I've read where "2014" is mentioned. Definitely a good year.

Thanks again for all the helpful replies and encourgement. I am trying to inhale into my mouth and not my lungs. I'm not sure I'm doing it right yet/getting the hang of it. I know there have been several times where I inhale and take it into my lungs, but I am trying! Just trying to figure out how it feels when its NOT going into my lungs, and into my mouth only. If I could get that down, I'd be good. I've also decided, this weekend, I'm finally going to change what I vape with. I'm currently using a MVP 5, and a Zeus tank. I've never even looked at the pods system, never had an interest or need to, but I've heard its much easier to not inhale with. And who knows, maybe it'll break my habit of constantly vaping. thats one of my biggest things, like I'm on my laptop right now, and I just always reach for it, maybe having a pod I'll break that habit and in the right direction. Just gotta get the inhalation correct!o_O

I see a few recipes for that on ELR. I've been looking for another good watermelon. My favorite was Zen Watermelon from Freedom Smokes USA.
Great site! I'm checking out any and all online vape sellers anybody mentions, because I'm looking for a good price on cigalikes to ship to a rehab center where they want the inmates to try vaping, if they want to, because they're not allowed to smoke after 8pm. FreedomsmokeUSA has a cigalikes tab, but it leads to a dead page.

Anyway, the shipping is bit high, but they have saffron, cardamom and thyme, three flavors I've never seen anywhere. I got the "spice up your life" sampler pack that has all of those, and 120 ml. clove. The goth in me likes that they offer 13 mg. nic.

I was actually surprised to see that they're still open, they were one of my first go-to websites. It's good to see they are still open for business, though, their website layout has always been a bit janky. Let me know how you like the flavors. It's so great your helping out those folks at the rehab center, very cool.

Btw - nice work on the new avi

Thank you. When I don't like the way a photo came out, I drop it into the cartooner and see what comes out. I changed back to the velvet glamourpuss for now, since winter is almost over. I made another drama one for spring-summer.

Somebody on the other forum put out a call for help with vapes for the residents of the year long rehab program where he works. He's been buying them himself, to give out. Apparently they lock down at 8pm, so people can't go outside and smoke after that. The doctor-director agrees with him that quitting cigarettes adds loads to the stress of quitting other substances. He's the kind of forum user that only logs in every couple of months, so he hasn't PM'd out the address since people started responding. One of the mods vouched for him being real, not a scammer.

Anyway, it's given me time to keep digging around for a good deal on cigalikes, since people without vape friends will tend to start with those, thinking they're easy and uncomplicated to use. I hope they are. I've never tried cigalikes. The forum guy didn't specify any particular type of vape products to send.

Friendly suggestion: Look into Innokin's Coolfire Z80/Zenith 2 Kit. From what you've said, it might be a good set-up for you now.

because I'm looking for a good price on cigalikes to ship to a rehab center where they want the inmates to try vaping, if they want to, because they're not allowed to smoke after 8pm.
    Friendly suggestions:
SmokeTip.com has some of the best cigalike batteries & good cartomizers, w/ reasonable prices.
ApolloECigs.com has the best refillable clearomizers, imo.
So great of you to be helping folks that way!!! You're really a lovely soul!

I decided I had put my lungs through way to much during the 45+ years I smoked. When I switched to vaping I decided to give my lungs a break. I kinda suck on the vape much like one would suck on a straw. By doing it this way all the vapor is in my mouth. I hold it there for a few seconds before letting it out of nose and mouth. Some still goes into my lungs but it is just a tiny fraction of it.

Instead of lowering the nic level you may want to consider increasing it. This may help you cut down on the amount you vape. In my humble opinion it is not the nicotine causing health issues even with smoking so I don't feel the need to lower the amount of it. I have been vaping for just over 10 years now and have settled on 12mg nic. I make my own e-liquid. I go very easy on the amount of flavoring. I make my favorite menthol 220mls at a time. Of that 220ml only 10mls of it is flavoring. If we ever discover damage from vaping I suspect it is going to be caused by the amount of flavoring added to store bought e-liquid.

Thank you MLEJ, for the friendly suggestions. This very helpful.

I'm avoiding anything refillable, and I know I could be wrong about this, but the attraction to cigalikes for frustrated people is that you pull one from the pack, use it up, and pull out another. That's what some newbies have said to me in the past anyway. The users can find their own refinements down the line.

Smoketip.com actually looks like the thing that's going to work because there are the various nic levels. The thing bugging me about other disposables was that I saw them only in 24 mg or 45 mg (!!!). I think I like these Smoketip starter kits at 16 mg, battery, 5 cartridges and a charger. I think most newbie vapers do best at 18 mg, but 16 will have to do, and I can send some in regular, some menthol.

It's not that I'm such a lovely soul. I'm a bit obsessive compulsive, and I can't stand the thought of someone failing or escaping a year long rehab program because of the grim reality of being unable to smoke at night while mulling over the day's routines, counseling sessions, discussions, breakthrough moments. Night time is when our demons come for us.

The doc who agrees the residents need something at night seems to me to be the lovely, compassionate soul in this situation.

    Will this help, or not?

Picture the inhaled vapor as a big Hawaiian surf wave forming. It rolls to the back of your throat and curls up, hitting the roof of your mouth. Once you feel that hit, let it go through your nose and mouth, just like a wave makes ocean mist.

    You're a vape surfer.

Just a humble comment reflecting on my nasal sensibilities; when I do that, I sneeze.
