What is the output of the charger you have been using for your CF?

I honestly doubt that you have done any damage to the battery as I think I saw a thread earlier when you were saying it was taking an age to charge - which would indicate you were using a lower powered charger rather than the 420mA charging cable Aspire recommend.

Only you can decide if it's safe or not, but usually battery damage is caused (among other things) by overcharging and over discharging and I think you have done neither.

Well I just checked out the specs and the Aspire requires DC5V input and DC4.2V 420mA output which is what this charger has. I just don't understand still why the charger wont fully charge because I was on this forum earlier looking at another post and about 4 people said they get 16 hours of usage with theirs. And a full charge is only 2-5 hours. I charged mine for 4 hours and got 10 minutes and then I charger it for 24 hours (light on charger still showed red) and only got about 2 hours. I don't know what could be causing this at this point. The specs seems all right with my charger

wall adapter for usb charger. and no I haven't cleaned them. Well, I've used a q-tip but that didn't do much

As TE said, clean everything thoroughly, try using a different wall wort before you spring for a new charging cable. Those charging cables are known to go bad quickly so it could well be you need a new one (I'd say it's more likely the cable than the battery) - but cleaning everything can't hurt any.

That green stuff is corrosion and will inhibit a good connection and reduce your ability to charge your equipment. It will also potentially create a hotspot (feel very warm to hot to the touch) and that's one way fires start. Removing all the "green stuff" should help substantially. I further assume that you're cleaning this stuff with it unplugged (no power).

Those little 510 chargers are all basically the same and are interchangeable..... Noe some doi charge at slightly different rates and some have slightly different cut-off levels. But If it screws onto your 510 connection it will likely work whether from EGO, kanger, aspire whatever. Those little cables will even charge 18xxx batts in the mod.. May not be a good idea BUT it is possible. If you are having charging issues and all the connection are good and clean.
