Thanks for the help Kate. I should probably reveal a bit more information in case it is relevant.

I did order what was considered the high (18mg) cartridges to go with my e-cig.

I should probably have mentioned that I tend to get a headache when smoking most cigars or pipe tobacco(although I gather this could be related to PG as well).

I noticed the headache whether smoking the high nic or zero nic cart that was included with my order.

I've not e-smoked in about 6 hours and I finally had to quaff a Goody's headache powder (yuck) to try and alleviate the headache.

I am a pack a day smoker of full flavor cigarettes if that can help determine my nic tolerance.

It's hard to compare tolerance levels because with esmoking you are getting different potency nicotine in a different timescale. My guess is that more is absorbed faster with esmoking.

For example

if one drop = 0.05ml (20 drops in a ml) and you vape two drops in five minutes of 18mg juice
you will be inhaling 0.1ml of 18 = 1.8mg nicotine

That's around twice as much nic as a cigarette would deliver, just in five minutes vaping. There are other variables too like pH that mean vaping might allow more absorption.

The result with zero nic juice could be affected by previous high nic use???

I'd be surprised if the propylene glycol was causing headaches but stranger things have happened.

If it continues to be a problem and you are being careful about nic then you could try a glycerine based juice. Johnson Creek make the only commercially available one.

I have been having the same problem but with a twist. I ordered my first e-cig a week and a half ago. I bought a Red Dragon, which I liked. The I also bought a sample pack from JC. Which I also liked. I smoked about a pack a day of Newport 100's so I ordered the high carts from red dragon with my kit. They were 16mg. My sample pack for JC was the 18mg juice. I had no side effects from smoking the Red Dragon juice or from topping them off with the JC juice when I thought they were out. Now here's where it gets wierd. I decided to send the Red Dragon back and buy a 510 Titan. With my Titan kit I also recieved 10 prefilled carts ranginging in strength from high to zero. And I also ordered some empty carts. Now when I smoke even a little bit of my JC I get a goodsize headache, which I was not getting before. I thought maybe I was getting to much nic but that didnt make sense because I really wasn't smoking it like crazy and certainly not as much as when I was using the Red Dragon. So today I did some experimenting. My first smoke of the morning I smoked with the low nic cart from TW. Everything was fine. Later in the morning I tried my cart with JC peach. Just a few drags gave me a headache almost immediatly. So after my headache finally went away I tried the zero nic cart from TW. Everything was fine. So again I thought maybe I was getting to much nicotine. So I decided to try the med nic cart from TW which I believe is 18mg and I was perfectly fine. I try the JC again, different flavor same result, immediate headache. So this is what I don't understand. Why is the JC juice that I enjoyed in my Red Dragon all of a sudden killing me in my Titan when the same amount of nicotine mg of my TW juice is not. Is Johnson's Creek not compatible with the 510? Or did it go bad? I have only had it for a week or so. Sorry for such a long post I just wanted to give an accurate description of what was going on. Thank you for your help.
