The Ego and/or Riva are great e-cigs (when they work). But they fall way short on lasting. I've gone thru at least 10 of them in the last year. I always went back to them because of warranties and also simply because I love their performance. But NOW I am DONE with that model!

They simply don't last!!! I'm tired of replacing them!! I ordered a Roughstack. At least with this model if the battery fries then I can buy a new bat cheap. I've heard good reviews on the Roughstack so I have my fingers crossed.

Thanks for letting me rant!!

fyi - Also - before anyone gives me a lesson on cleaning techniques. I clean the connections each and everythime I charge. As wel as making sure attys are cleaned and working in tip top condition.

I have had my Riva now for over a year!!! If a friend didnt fry the other battery that came in the kit I'd have both still working.
It still works like the first day I got it. I have to wonder about who you are buying from, not that I want to know or for you to list the supplier. Are you getting authentic equipment?
I'm just saying that they aren't all bad!!!!

there are quite a few different manufactures of ego's. They aren't all completely the same. If you kept getting duds did you try different units? or the same one. I love mine though I've only just started using ego's within a few months. My roughstack is my favorite overall mod you won't be disappointed. I use ego's and 6v on the maxi roughstack over all my other expensive mods.

At least 10 in a Year?

Wow. If you are buying them from one vendor than that vendor is selling junk eGo's. I've not had any problems with mine except the connector thread on one or the orginal batteries. Which the vendor quicky replaced.

You sure you don't have something wrong with your electrical supply or charger.

10 in a year seems crazy.

I'm not sure why my luck has been so bad with the Egos/Rivas. All I can say is I am tired of dealing with them. I'd actually be happier dealing with a Mod (as the RS) that if a battery goes bad I can simply order a new one. Also I'm "itching" for a change! I've read some nice reviews for the Roughstack (ordered the maxi) so looking forward to it...also 6v vaping!

Question for all you 6v vapers out there? The kit comes with 4.5 ohm 510 attys. I've never used an atty rated that high. If I vape with 6v will it produce the same vaper as I've been accustomed to with my EGO with a 2.5 atty? Though I do still have a few attys in the 2.0 to 2.5 range.

Ok - got my RS! But something is wrong (I think)?

I put an atty on it an I get one puff and then nothing!! Maybe the batteries need better charge. Though the charger shows green...but it does change to red every 30 seconds or so. Even so - I've had the bats charging for over an hour. I would think that I would get more than one puff?

Has anyone experienced this before? Am I being simply impatient?

I'll give an update tomorrow.

what kind of batteries and charger are you using i have a hooba charger w/ cr123a batteries for 6v in long tube, and trustfire chargers w/18350 batteries with short tube for 3.7v and all work perfectly

LOL

Well I figured out that the RS works. Just not with any 510 atty. The screw in connection (for the atty) must be too low I'm guessing. I figured this out by screwing in a kr808 carto with a 510 adapter. It fired right up. It works great like that. Problem is I want to use it with 510 attys. Anyway I created a ticket with Madvapes about it. I would think all I need is a replacement of the top piece with the circuit board. So hopefully they get back to me soon about it.

Sometimes the plating on the battery connection is a little thick on the top which causes the atty not to "bottom out" in the connector. It's an easy fix by sanding the top of the connector on the PV ever so slightly.

But since yours is brand new, I would wait until you hear from madvapes before you sand or mod the RS in any way.
