I'm was Never sure if the Provari went to 5.3v on it's own. Or if that is what the Provari was set to by the OP.

If Fact, I never heard Much about what Volts/Ohms the OP was using. Even when People Asked.

And I never heard the OP Ask for any Help. Just Came to say that they Had problems vaping. And now the Provari is Lost.

I think it was a dud anyway, always had problems. Had it 3yrs., so I got my use or uselessness out of it.

Provape was of no help, always chalked it up to user error. They put their fingers in their ears & chant la la la, if you insinuate it may be their product.

So, I don't want to replace.

What I would like is some advice on something smaller, or at least slimmer & lighter, that will handle vg. I do thin the vg, I'm vaping it now on an ego with a Cisco atty. (Wish I could buy them elsewhere.)

I do like a big cloud & was able to produce it on the Provari on several occasions.

It may turn up, but, other than the fact that it was so difficult to work with, I still want another back up. Ego's are ok, but...ya' know.

Thank you!

Constant dry hits, then it might get in the groove by the end of the day, & start all over again.
That's why I usually didn't take it anywhere, inhaling like crazy, no vapor production...at all!
I sent it back to Provari twice, they said the same thing on the phone & e-mails...user error.
I tried everything, brand new batts, fully charged, thinning the vg more. It was working with thicker vg on the Cisco atts. (btw Everclear is what Cisco rec. for thinning, a drop or 2, it's like whap!)
Provari was nice the 1st round, but after that, no! I asked for a replacement, that's all, a product that works for the money I spent. It got ugly.
Also, during the few times I got it vaping very nicely, I'd take a hit, set it down, red light went on, saying it was set to 5.3. I did not touch that button after taking a hit, it just reset itself...a lot!
Given that, it was difficult to appreciate.

i didn't get that particular answer, either. though the others were pretty clear to me.

Sorry beckdg.

When you said Came for Advise, I took it in the Context of Advise about a Provari. Not about Advise for a New and Smaller Mod.

My Mistake.

easy mistake. the p-word gets pretty touchy 'round these parts. hard to focus on much else once it's in print. i'm guilty at times myself.

honestly, i'd be curious about the batteries used in the prothingy. they could possibly be a culprit. especially if they're flat tops with a magnet for a button or fake AW's op just got unlucky with.

look. i'm not interested in a petty internet argument. i'm just saying lighten up and be helpful if you can find it within yourself. we're supposed to be a community here to help each other.

and yes, i'm familiar with provape, their reputation, their credentials and their warranty. doesn't make them or their electronics infallible. splat happens. give the guy (or gal) a break. offer to buy the provari if you feel so sure of yourself.

(selling it in the marketplace with a disclaimer would be a good idea)

LOL! You started it. But don't want to argue. Funny!

I Frankly think the Entire Provari Fanbois and Provari Haters think Is Kinda Stupid.

I really Don't care what Mod Anyone Else uses. I'm Not Sure why someone else should Care about the Mod I'm using.

And that was the Main Reason I Didn't Give or Make a Suggestion in the OP's 1st Post. Because I wasn't going to be Part of it when the P-Word is Involved.

So I just Tried to Post something Humorous to Stave Off the Inevitable. And to keep the Flow of the Thread as Light As Possible.

A smaller regulated mod would be an iTasts VVv3. Aside from that one, most other tube mods are around the same diameter as a Provari. Also, vaping via watts, rather then volts may provide more consistency for a user who may or may not understand the relationship between ohms and volts and how changes to either one will affect the overall vape. Also, I believe there are some 14500 regulated mods out there. I'm not familiar with specific names, but a google search for regulated 14500 mods should yield results.

As for dry hits, that's more trial and error to find. What works for some doesn't work for others. Everyone has their own preferences for toppers. There are a ton of factors that go into why a topper may not be wicking well. If OP likes to take longer, harder, draws, then toppers that are good for some people won't be for him. Still, dry hits are largely due to the toppers, not the power source. A different power source will have the same results if other toppers are not tried. Keep looking OP, and I suggest that most of your money go to looking for. Suitable topper before spending on a more expensive mod. Get the iTaste. Try variable watts and see if it's more consistent as a power source for you. The iTaste VVv3 is only $26 over at 101vape

While the scenario of Provape simply being unable to reproduce the 5 volt error could happen, I think it more likely from OP's statements that much of the issue may be some misunderstanding of volts and the proper setting of them for toppers of various resistances. If OP switched a topper, a setting on the Provari for the first one may be a great vape, but on the second could be too hot or too cool if there was no adjustment between vapes according to the resistance. A variable watt device would eliminate that as an issue.

I totally agree. I have many devices, as stated before, I even told OP that a Joytech Evic might be good to get. I have one of those too. But it seems people want to call you a fanboi if you simply mention a ProVari. LOL. It's silly. I still say getting a new device is moot til he fixes his topper issues. If you read all the OP posts its clear its a topper issue.

I don't. It found me, apparently, I left it @ a party on memorial Day, the host returned it. The battery still was good, have to tell Mr. Ripley's rep about that. Gave my little Lulu a good cleaning worked for a day or 2, had 2 clean it again. It's the same. Can only vape @ 3.2, & it jumps to 5 something, unprovoked. So, I'm glad to have everyone's advice. I still have to get a secondary primary, when Lulu gets moody. I appreciate everyone's input & will peruse, had trouble with my password. Haven't been online much, packing to move. Thank you all, for making my decision so much easier!

You do realize that problems with dry hits are a problem with your topper, not the Provari? The Provari is just the power source. Seriously, are you that dense?

Just by reading this one post I suspect most all problems you encounter are due to user error.

& a mod that does better with VG..?.?..?.... Oh, nevermind............
