Every forum has its ups and downs, i wrote the almost same post 4 months ago. Then it dies down and comes around again.
Theres plenty of other choices and depending on your personality they may seem better or worse then ecf.
You can hit up vape pit- if you can get an invite. Expect to be smacked down the second they find out your not holding a 400 dollar authentic or ask a basic question like a stupid noob.
Theres another where member names are cute plays on body parts, and threads digress into cursing and inappropriate memes, nothing to do with what they start out talking about, becuase as adults that should be allowed- who cares if your kids or boss may be walking by when a NSFW pic pops up.
Theres another one where the main rule is no rules so rudeness and name calling during arguments is quite common.
You can always hop on reddit while informative, 1/2 the threads start going 40 directions after a while and your left thinking but how does that help me.
Or maybe some of the other ones where something posted 3 weeks ago, has 1reply and stays on page one for a month cause its like a ghost town
Or stay here, realize this isnt a perfect world and as such accept that just like real life, that small % of a## hats will be represented here as well and ignore it, and move on to the good folks and friendly faces that are worth conversing with..

I thankfully (as a new member) haven't experienced this yet. Everyone I have met so far has been helpful and nice!
But I have been in a few forums,.. where I just don't respond because of the nastiness I have seen.
People have different opinions and it's hard to understand how the other person is responding.
Something Like "Yeah , Right" can be taken in several ways.
But your post is 100% correct.. These forums should be somewhere where newbies can come and get help. We all started out as a newbie.

I've noticed this more in the last few weeks too. Usually, I try to stick to facts and help when I can but some people express their (strong) opinions as fact and spread rumors and lies. I call them out on it and that's when it starts. I'll rebuff with a post or 2 and then ignore them. I don't hold grudges and I know I'm not the smartest person so I know I can learn something from anyone and everyone, even people I have disagreements with. I'll also try to help them if they ask.
Someone mentioned about being PC and creating thin skinned people. I wholeheartedly agree. This is the internet and the younger kids post thinking there's no consequences.
And there are tons of dumb questions (and dumb people)

Oh gosh this made me laugh. So true.
And don't forget when the Ego Twist VV was a *game changer*. Around that time, I think there were also a lot of Vivi Nova posts, that was the big news.
Life on the internet I'm afraid much as it would be great to be love and hugs all the time it would also make things very boring, I've always felt if your going to join a forum have a thick skin and do not be the sensitive type as if you do have thin skin and are sensitive your best off never posting. Add in the snobbery that has grown in a couple of areas of vaping and quite a few antz looking to stir things up and yes things have heated up on most vaping forums and it's going to get worse sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
It's funny how these types of threads garner so much interest within users. It's also interesting how people are so vocal when topics like this come up, yet, stay so silent in other threads.

I gotta say, this place is mild compared to my horse racing forums. If you have occasion to be on any kind of sports forum with a lot of passoinate people, you know what I mean.
I still consider myself a newbie - but I try to stay somewhat informed. If someone asks me a question I can not answer I try to steer them to the right place. Just because I love my Ego batteries and single coil using toppers does not mean I do not pay attention.
I also tend to ask the person how long have they been vaping - what are they using now,what amount of nicotine do they use etc . . .so I may then give them better answers or steer them to the right place and/or person.
Oh and I try really hard not to be condescending and/or mean.

I always try to careful of ones feelings. Try to treat others as I like to be treated. If I ever hurt someones feelings I would hope they would pm me and tell me as I would think it would be just a play with words. We have many different cultures and people trying to speak\understanding a different language ect. Upon saying that, what's that old saying? Their is no reasoning with an idiot, they will just bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. CHEERS!
I don't really appreciate this kind of post. You say there will be "at least one jerk in the bunch" Do you have any idea how singled out that makes me feel? Do you have any idea how alone that makes me feel? I mean, yeah, it's not like there are a bunch of jerks everywhere and we don't travel in packs. It's lonely. It takes me forever to find another jerk out there is this great big world and even then, we don't usually get along because, well, the other guy is a jerk. But we jerks are people too. With feelings. Sure, we may not be that smart. And sometimes we come across as abrasive. And sometimes we may accidently spit food out of our mouths when we talk because we drink too much. And we may not be able to hold down a job making french fries because we're constantly hitting on the new window girl and the fries get burnt. And we may not know how to pleasure a woman even though we say we're the best ever. But we have feelings damn it. Real feelings.
