I've notice lately an increasing amount of "hostile" posts

Really, there's two things that tend to get my dander up aside from rudeness. The first are the people who feel the way they vape is the only way to vape, whether its resistance/power or choice or price point of gear. The second is prejudice against any group of people. Mostly here that's China bashing. Also making fun of Victor's English. I'm quite sure if I learned Chinese my pronunciation and accent would be laughable as well. And at least one member here makes unneccessary remarks about Americans as well.
Oh, c ' Mon now. Victor is very amusing. I'd love to be his friend. I'd support and teach him everything I could. My price? Just him being him is priceless.

His ESL is just an aside that's an easy reference and target.

This.
My bad experiences are from the first.

I grew up with the saying, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but WORDS will never hurt me."
I have never seen anything but words and a few pictures on this site.

I don't think people are more hostile. I think people are bad with punctuation and grammar. and others are over sensitive to perceived insult.

I don't think I've ever been offended by any forum post. Maybe I have thick skin. The last time I was offended, and probably first time in a decade, was when my girlfriend threw my abusive childhood in my face during a heated argument. But I didn't whine about it, I told her that was over the line and she agreed. But to be able to be offended by a forum post.... You're empowering strangers with the ability to alter your emotional state, and that's a pretty dangerous position to be in psychologically.

I've been here about a year and have noticed an increase of drive by trolls in the last couple of months, usually blaming vaping for some mysterious ailment. I think that makes regulars a bit defensive. I suspect that there are sock puppets among us to plant anecdotal "evidence" of the "dangers of vaping." Just a theory...

With all due respect I disagree. Back two years ago when I started I picked up a flu bug and I remember thinking that maybe it was from vaping. I think that is a totally normal thing to think that maybe it is caused by vaping. I think the brain sends that message in hope it can get some tobacco smoke. Sometimes my throat still gets flemed up and I wonder if it is from vaping and then it goes away and I write it off as a virus. CHEERS!.

I wrap my posts in tin foil, so they're unable to read mine. :)
Did you post something?

I only frequent 2 forums, this one and a bass fishing forum. Both are seriously well run and moderated. Don't get me wrong, I've looked and lurked at others that involve both of these hobbies and prefer the ones that are fair and unbiased and signed up and participated to the best of my ability.

A little bit of levity is most of the time a bit of an ice breaker when things start getting testy! That's how I look at it. Some may take it personal and if it comes across like that, my apologies.

I just like to have a little bit of fun and hope that it's always perceived that way with my posts!

Every member that I have had the pleasure of interacting with here has been ever helpful at every turn, it would be a pity if some posters thought that they were being singled out by anyone here just because they thought they were being slighted. There should be a level of fun associated in anything in life, start enjoying your life a little folks!!!

FACT: There has already been a study done by an ANTZ that mined this forum for hypothetical dangers of vaping.

I am just noting this in case any of you were not aware of it...

That does not mean that anyone here is posting bogus health issues on purpose.
But to deny that it could be happening is a bit foolish in my opinion.

I read an article in Vapers Digest (or something like that, we get all sorts of vape magazines sent to work -- and they all feature a sexy girls fold-out section -- all of them!) and the girl being interviewed mentioned ECF was the gentleman's club where you could ask questions and get answers. And Vapers Forum was where everyone went to cuss and be uninhibited.
