I've been vaping for about 2 weeks now and got my first one at a smoke shop. I told the guy that I was new at it and he suggested a kit called Flow. It has a long battery (about as thick as a crayola marker), a vaporizer and a cartridge that I fill. I've been reading about e-cig types and models and I'm still not sure what I have.

I'm also fairly new but I'll take a shot with my knowledge.

That certainly sounds like an eGo battery. An eGo battery is a battery about the thickness of a Crayola marker with a specific thread size for screwing tanks on and such. An eGo Twist has a dial on the bottom that you can adjust the voltage. Ergo, I believe strongly you have an eGo Twist-style battery. There are a lot of different companies that make the exact battery and they're all compatible.

I don't think you have a cigalike. Am I correct?

As for your "vaporizer and cartridge," I'm wondering if your cartridge is the same diameter as the battery, if it's completely sealed or openable and completely filled with stuffing, if it has wicks hanging from the top or if it appears that there is nothing at all. The first type (stuffed) would be a cartomizer. The second would be a top-coil clearomizer and the third would be a bottom coil clearomizer.

From one of your descriptions, it sounds like an EVOD-style tank, which is a bottom coil clearomizer. Could be off-brand.

I don't think it's a FLO nor a FLOW. Neither uses juice (aside from popping open the FLO's cartridges).

MelvintheDude- I believe you're right. It looks like I have an off the wall brand of this: Genuine Colored Kangertech Evod bcc Ego Clearomizer Bottom Coil Kanger Tank New | eBay
It came in a box that had a symbol on it that looks like two capital "E"s back to back and says flow.
The cartridge is the same size as the battery. I've bought two.of them from different places. One came in the (I'm guessing) generic box and the other just in sealed plastic. Mine has an adjustable voltage dial, my husband's doesn't. They're both interchangeable though.
Should I be upset that I asked for an e-cig and was recommended this? I knew they could be expensive so when I saw it was $40 I thought it was too good to be true :( Now I'm wondering if $40 was even a good deal lol.
So what do I call this device if it isn't technically an e-cig? Should I be embarrassed to be seen with it?

It looks similar to that. Looking into the cartridge (which is a solid color with two Windows to see the amount of liquid) there is an empty tube and the liquid surrounds the tube. The stem on the atomized then goes into the empty tube while closing it.

That sounds like an EVOD. Does the top part look like this:

If so, you probably got an ego battery, with an EVOD head. Which is a fine starter-kit.

Edit: Should have caught up on the reading). No, an Ego and EVOD kit is a fine starter. $40 isn't a horrible price (although there are some cheaper deals).

I wouldn't be to Upset. If you have the e-Cigarettes that I think you do, they are Good Units.

And ANY e-Cigarette that keeps you and your Husband from Smoking is Worth Every Penny you paid for them.

Here's the Deal... If you stick with e-Cigarettes, the PV's that you bought will probably Not be the last ones that you end up Buying.

Most people when they are New Buy an eGo sized e-Cigarette Kit. And then later down the road, they buy another e-Cigarette that has Longer Battery Life. Or that they like the Looks of More. Just about Everyone here has.

So I wouldn't worry about anything.

Not Smoking is the ONLY thing to think about right now.
