Okay, i need help again. I ordered the J tank, so excited! It came today. My hubs make holes in the carto for me with the saddle valve punch thingie, put 2 holes in there. Put the tank on. It does NOT go up into the carto. It just sits in the tank. So i had originally put a clear mint juice in there. Took it apart, hubs put an ice pick in the holes to make sure they should accommodate the juice coming in. I then put a brownish colored liquid in the tank to see if it was actually wicking up into the carto. Its not. The carto just keeps getting drier and drier and nothing is wicking into it. What am i doing wrong?????

What carto and what voltage are you using?

A carto tank is a carto tank, they all work the same way.
I'm using a J tank right now, and have been for several months. I have never had a problem with it.

I just punch two holes, slip it half way into the tank, fill the tank, slide it the rest of the way in, and 5 minutes later start vaping.
No pre filling, or anything else.

I've been using two J-Tanks for a few weeks now. They are my first tanks. At first I was slotting the cartos with a Dremel tool, lately I've been punching them. There are a few things I've noticed that seem to have a noticeable effect on performance:

    - For some reason, slots seem to work better for me than punched holes. I'm not sure why but that's my experience.

    - Slot/punch location matters. Seems to work best as low as possible while still allowing the bottom cap to seal (slot/hole just above the top of the bottom cap).

    - Nicuid viscosity has a HUGE effect. I have one slotted carto I've used for nearly three weeks now with 70/30 and 80/20 fruit flavors (alternating Honeydew, Watermelon, Melon Explosion) with no issues whatsoever. However, some thicker nicquids I have (in the 50/50 and 60/40 range) have have left me very frustrated by not wetting the carto fast enough and allowing the carto to vape dry. Thinning the thicker nicquids down with 25-30% straight PG seems to help even if it does mute the flavor just a bit.

    - The fill material of the carto also seems to have an effect. Post-mortem looky-see seems to indicate too dense a filling doesn't keep the carto wet and too loose keeps it too wet (assuming the cartos are identically slotted). Either way does not vape as well as "just right".

    - I tend to like horizontal coil cartos, but Boge 2.0 ohm vertical coil cartos seem to work best out of everything I've tried.

One thing I haven't tried yet is using just one slot or hole. I saw a video recently that seemed to indicate that helps, perhaps by providing a stronger draw on the nicquid in the tank when you draw on the carto. It also seems you need to make sure the slot/hole gets placed so it's "facing down" in your normal vaping position so it doesn't draw air when the nicquid level gets low. I'm not entirely sure about this idea since I haven't tried it yet but it's worth a shot.

I always forget to tell what im using -- joye ego battery 900 mah, a regular Boge cartomizer, not LR. I just looked up the stuff i am trying to run through here, its Ms. Ts Bakery and it says more VG than PG. That could be a problem. Vapian, you have given me a lot of stuff to work with -- thanks so much everybody!!
