The Postman Always Rings ... JAX!

Yes, I got mine just now! Very first thoughts:

  • LOVE the rubber finish, LOVE the gunmetal battery door. I think the contrast is very elegant, and the feel is perfect. :hubba:
  • The button clickiness is totally posh, a pure pleasure.
  • The fire button is very responsive. Like very. If you are accustomed to keeping your thumb (or finger, however you roll) resting on the fire button, well, you *might* not be able to do that without a lot of accidental firing. Do NOT put this in your pocket, or anywhere else it might get pressed up against something (is that a JAC in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me???) without turning off first.
  • In the hand it's slim and light. I see why Katdarling says it's like a tube mod, because that's the hold I'm using -- like my old Provari Minis: little finger under the base, pad of thumb to fire. I can also hold it in my palm (no little finger under the bottom) and use the inside of my thumb to fire, but for me it doesn't feel quite as comfortable. I have to say again how luxurious the rubberized finish feels.
  • Battery door is definitely grippy-grabby! Absolutely zero looseness or play at all on mine. I did need to use my thumbnail to get it off, but can see now how to do it without (in case anyone is worried about their manicure! [emoji14]) The door only goes on one way. When you first take it off, look at the bottom and see how the magnet is attached there differently than the top. This is how it goes back on. When replacing the door, attach it at bottom first, then snap in the top. If you do it this way, it's very easy to replace.
  • My KFM 3s feel like they are awkwardly tall on it, and a little top-heavy in weight. I think it definitely looks better with the shorter atties. I decided to go matchy-matchy with my maiden voyage, and used a black Vika Fantasy (similar to Kabuki). The proportions are better to my eye, and I do like the lightness of this atty on the Jac.
  • vaping experience is perfect. Instantly responsive, smooth, effortless. Perfect.
  • The menu window is very large and clear. I haven't messed with settings since I don't TC, so I can't say much about that, but as far as viewing, it's very easy to see, and comes in my preferred alignment! Also, it's very true that the instructions are rolled up and curly!
Not the best photo by a far shot, but here she is:

(Sorry, I can't do an in-hand, which would be MUCH more useful to show scale, etc, because I have to shoot it with my iPad.)

In conclusion, I'll say she feels and vapes like

I'm very happy with the purchase, and very happy I didn't have any trouble with customs!
Good info, and I agree on the km3...I have 3 of them and feel they are too tall with the jac, so I'm using my erlkonigin nano on it, and there it will stay...

I can set it down to 1.0. JWB, but if there are any other potentially contributing factors I'm not familiar with them.

I'm in wattage mode, if that matters.
I think the minimum might be lowest voltage in conjunction with resistance ?

I figured my KM3 would be too tall for that JAC. Too bad because I use my KM3 almost exclusively these days. I am open to finding a shorter atty. Tell me about your Erl nano.

Diver, I see Steam Tuners makes a nano kit for the Kayfun 5. Reduces the height from 60mm to 40mm (w/o drip tip & 510 threads). The KM3 is 54mm. So a K5 nano would reduced 14mm relative to the KM3. That would be the ticket. Only problem is Steam Tuners is not bashful about charging for these. About $45 - $50. Creme de Vape sells them. Something to consider for me. I can convert my K5 to nano for the JAC. Love my K5 as much as my KM3.

I actually got out one of my old KFL nano setups, just to see how that would be. omg the leaking. So. Much. Leakage. I had forgotten. I dumped it, threw out the brand new coil and cotton, rinsed it, and back into its Sleeping Beauty bed it goes until the rainiest of rainy days.

Sadly I got into the vaping game too late to build a collection of Provape products. I have a secondhand Radius purchased from an ecf member and I adore it. Hoping Jac will help me feel less bummed about my lack of Provaris.

Well, before I put the KFL back to sleep, I tried it on my old Provari mini for old time's sake, and got the second blast from the past: the Provari couldn't see the atty. Oh man, yes, this used to happen all the time. Leaking atties and problem 510 connections. That was the scene pretty much every day. Things are so much better now! Your incoming Jac will be so much better! You will be so happy!

Did you get a bad nano kit?

Maybe? I have so many bits and pieces of Kayfun tanks and chimneys and top fill replacement caps and so on ... who knows. This one was already put together this way when it was stored, so I figure I must have been using it in this configuration back in the day.

I have a couple Frankenfuns around myself.

Sorry so fuzzy, but as I say, shooting with the iPad, so had to both hold it and click the shoot button with only one hand! The top part is a top-fill add-on piece.

Anyway, I have a Goblin Mini on the Jac now, and that's working nicely. Though not as match-ilicious as the black Fantasy.

I don't have any black tanks. I think the JAC will be my first black mod. I was on a site over the weekend where I could have ordered the black Nautilus 2 for $19.99 minus their 15% off Father's Day sale. I ordered one other item but forgot about the Nautilus 2 in black before I ordered. I have a Stainless Steel and a grey Nautilus 2 that I guess won't look too bad on the JAC. I also have red Supertank mini that currently doesn't have a permanent mod to reside on, so it may end up on the JAC. Decisions, decisions...

I've got a Vika Fantasy clone which would look good on the Jac, but unfortunately it had a loose brass centre pin and I lost it a while ago ....:(

That black S-22 that JAC sells looks very nice on the mod. Gets good reviews too. I'm just not into pre-built coils though so it's not a fit for me.

The black S-22 tank is very tempting. I will wait until I have the mod in hand and see how my other tanks look on it.

I tried the grey N2 on Jac and for myself I did not care for it. The black looks better however I still prefer my Stealth Kabuki due to its cleaner design at least for me.

The S-22 looks very nice. If you do buy it, try the wait and see approach to get a 20% discount.

It has been close to four years since I used my KFL+ on my ProVari — but it worked for me. No leaking and no connection issues. One day it may surprise you.

Woo Hoo! He's on his way, shipping notification received. No tracking makes me a little sad, I'll be stalking the mailbox until it gets here. Well, after I get home next Saturday anyway. Being away from home will hopefully make the wait seem shorter.
