Not a bad idea, and the VaporSkinz will be there for the "if and when". I'm still loving the Jackie (OH!) with the total zebra skin on it, just by the way. But I too, am anxious to see what new batt cover JV brings us.

In the meantime? Oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Showin' some Provi love.

(BEAUTIFUL, NSM)

Thanks.....Trusty Provari.

I think I can top you — in addition to the nicks, I now have scotch tape holding my battery cover on at the bottom. I bought the Elmer’s glue and glued in the top magnet without any issue. I knew the bottom magnet was going to give me problems so I practiced putting the magnet in the bottom slot. After several tries it’s in. It is not glued in and I cannot get it out. I let the cover sit for a couple of hours to ensure the glue was set. I then go to put the battery cover on. No problem at the top but at the bottom the cover was flapping in the wind, would not lock in plus the lower part of the battery was visible. Really strange because everything looks fine other than the two magnets are not making contact. I decided to put it aside and then today thought I wonder if scotch tape will hold the bottom of the cover in place. Sure enough it did. If I need to replace the battery of course I need to remove and replace the scotch tape.

A few days ago I did let JV know about the magnet issue as I wanted them to be aware of it. I think it may be more widespread because they indicated they are aware of it. It appears they will have the manufacturer use a stronger epoxy whenever they make another order. JV also wanted to know if I was able to glue the magnets in. I finally responded yesterday with my experience. I received an email back indicating they will send me another Jac. Obviously I may still encounter the battery cover finish coming off as well as the magnets. I just ordered a Vapor Skinz at least to protect the cover. I would like to get a Jackie and will hold off temporarily.

There's a whole lot of "Wow" in response to this one. :thumb:

so same thing as JAC

Indeed, m'lady. "Jackie, OH!" would be the Katspoken name for said device.

I had/have other names, but mine are all considerably less, well, classy (for lack of a better term). :D

Well...dang it - quit trying to confuse me !
I thought there was another one out and I don't even have this one yet :sneaky:

It appears that they may be making some changes/improvements, so delaying purchase may turn out to be a good thing.

They've sure been an impressive company to deal with, in the short time I've been dealing with them. Very reminiscent of another we once knew (and some of us loved too).

It's beyond me how they can manage at these prices (competing with China in many ways), but they appear to have that figured out so who am I to question...(rhetorical).

Well, I don't know if you have kept up with my battery door history but it is similar to yours. The magnets pulled out of their slots. Both of them. I pressed them back in with no glue. The door remained loose. I went to pull the magnets back out so I could glue them in but they refused to come back out. Thought I was stuck with a loose battery door forever. But over the course of several days the door was tight again. No floppy at all. I have no idea how it cured itself but it did. And yes, I contacted JAC as well and got the same response as you.

Yes, I do remember reading how your battery door self-fixed itself. I have changed the battery several times now and the situation has not changed. I don’t have much of a tool box however have added scotch tape to it. ;)

Getting those magnets back out of the slot is impossible without ripping up the slot. I know you can send it back to JAC and they'll fix it (or replace it if they can't). She told me to tell everyone on this thread. Not sure if I did.

Not worth it to send back. With the battery cover finish they did offer to send a replacement however stated that the same issue will probably occur. Alternately I could wait (several months) for a new battery cover that they are looking at. I opted to wait.

Question? Why isn't anyone using the charging port to re-charge? Is there a safety issue with the Jac's? I've been charging my Jac and Radis through the ports. Actually all my box mods.

My wife and I charge ours through the port. Just became habit after a Radius became our primary mods. We each have 3 of them.

If you have two JACs, then you can use the other door to get the loose magnet back out. Then I put a tiny drop of super glue in the slot and used the oldest tool I have to place the magnet. The oldest tool being Silly Putty that I've had for at least 50+ years and found thousands of uses for. Number 1 JAC's battery door is now tight as drum. But Number 2 is showing signs of one of the magnets coming out.
