I'm trying to go through this forum and learn more about oxidizing SS Mesh wicks and I keep reading about how people are using the Jack Frost method for oxidizing their wicks.

Problem is that I can't find any breakdown on what the Jack Frost method actually is.

Can anyone enlighten me?

repeated torchings, juice burns and quenchings are pointless and a complete waste of time. torch once before rolled, a bit after rolled and shove in tank. been doing that since last june and never have issues.

and if you really know what you are doing you don't have to torch at all, just roll(after boiling mesh of coarse) and shove in tank. pulse the coil till it oxidizes itself and the area right under the coil.

Then what about after the wick is rolled? Is there no need to continue torching/quenching the wick 3 times and then during your juice burns?

Like ninfreak said, I have found that fully unoxidized wicks are the way to go. IMO you get a much cleaner flavor and the wicking is even better. All I do is wash the mesh with dish soap, rinse well and boil it for about 10 min. Unoxidized however are a PITA to set up on a regulated device, mech mods are the way to go. *disclaimer* If using an unregulated mod to do this use a partially drained, quality high drain battery such as AW IMR or MNKE.
