Hi all, first post. :)

So...I'm a newb. I'm new to e-cigs, but not new to forums and I'm pretty handy with computers/internet. Having said that...OMG is there a lot of info on this subject starting from scratch! It was almost overwhelming for me, and if I may say so myself, that's saying a lot. Lol. :)

Anyway...I was tasked with researching and finding an e-cig for my mom (sounds much easier than it is lol). I researched for hours, and found this forum and Liberty Flights via this forum. I printed out pictures of various models, and all the starter kits to show my mom, as she does not have a computer or internet at her apt. After she reviewed all the info I brought and I answered her questions and explained things to her, we still could not decide on a model. The scene was that of a newb giving "expert" advice to an ultra-newb. :p

Decided to call Liberty Flights this past Friday afternoon, and had the pleasure of speaking with Jacob. He very patiently and courteously explained things and answered questions to not only me, but my mom as well. He even offered for her to call for a walkthrough when she received it if needed, which she did, and he came through with that too! Her main concern was getting a quality product that looked like a cigarette for the psychological aspect of it. With Jacob's help and recommendation we decided on the white Joye 510 starter kit, and 6 different flavors of juice (5ml vials ofChurchill, Original Red, Mango, Melon, Watermelon, and Coconut alternating 14mg and 18mg).

$3 for USPS Priority Mail, 20% off, shipped same day, and a little extra somethin from Jacob...can't beat that!! Package arrived Wed. (PA via CA), and my mom is completely happy with her order! Her and I are both excited for her to quit smoking and start vaping, and live a healthier and less smelly life! I'm gonna try hers out later on today, and order my own bigger, manlier (lol) model.

Hats off to Liberty Flights and more specifically Jacob...you now have not one, but two happy repeat customers! :thumb::toast::vapor:

Good to hear someone else had a good experience with them, I suspect it is a case of not hearing much about a company until they disappoint someone leading to a skewed opinion on the web. I usually buy all my liquid from their UK shop and have not had any complaints against any order I have placed. Mind you, I am trying (on the recommendation of a fellow ECF forum user) a new vendor who is about 30% cheaper, if the liquid is as good as Liberty Flights stuff then I may have to switch!

Hi and welcome to the ECF :)
I have had pretty good experiences with every supplier I've dealt with here. Most of them are owned either by families or a couple friends and they all seem to "walk the walk".
If you stick with the 510 format there's a whole world of things you can try out. Virtually every site around supports it in some way or another.
I wish you both the best of luck and if you have any questions or concerns ask away, help will be along in minutes :)
Take care

I recommend a spare battery, especially if you got the auto batteries (drag to activate) which are more easily damaged by juice leaks. A manual battery would be a great spare. Some other good 510 accessories are a PCC (the one at NoSmokeVA is roomy and nice and no sharp edges), a second charging cable for at home and one for at work, and only for manual batteries a drip tip for testing juice (the manual batteries are totally sealed on the end). And for the atomizer cartridges that come with the kit - they can be used and reused - restuff with precut blue foam stuffing from strictlyejuice.com (just search for foam - under $1 for 10 pieces) and that foam lasts a long time, can be rinsed andpatted dry with a paper towel.

I recommend trying cartomizers for whatever end up being her favorite juices. The slim 510 uses the 3 ohms Boge cartomizers (the 2 ohm ones are for the bigger fat battery models).

Re cartomizers -
NiteLiteVapor.us is the only place I know that carry Boges in tan and white (most places only have black). The tan or white cartomizer would replace both the atomizer and cart (so it would look even more like a cigarette), holds more juice, won't suddenly dump it out the way cartridges can. But you do need to keep them damp or they can singe adding a bitter taste. Upside of cartos is you can keep favorite flavors totally separate and each has its own fresh atomizer inside. Downside is their limited lives. I can get 7-10 days use or more out of a cartomizer.

--- how I fill cartos

When I fill the first time (and whenever adding a lot of juice) I hold tissue against the threaded end hole of the carto. Tilt and drip in 18 drops slowly (wait after the first few which may take longer to soak in). Then I wait 15-20 seconds. Then I see how many more drops the stuffing will soak in easily. Then I do cleanup of the threads, then tilt open end down into a tissue and puff into the threaded end hole to make sure the air channel is clear, then while still pointed down I touch soft tissue to the top of the stuffing to sop up any excess (helps prevent leaks). Then to settle it I let it lay on different sides for 15-20 minutes to spread the juice to every area of the carto. 15-20 minutes is more than enough settling with the thin juices I use. Only the first fill needs some settling time (to make sure every bit of stuffing is damp).

As I vape, I keep it damp. If the vapor seems light or dry or tastes even a tiny bit off or if the carto is getting abnormally warm, I see if it could use some juice. And you can also check the top of the stuffing - if it has gone white you could probably add a bit of juice before heading out or putting a new battery on it etc.

I use thin juices (PG w/ 20% or less VG) in these cartos. And they last longest with clear juices that don't drop a lot of flavoring sediment.

I have only good things to say about LF myself. I got a rusty bat and no questions asked they had a replacement in the mail before I even sent the rusty one off. Great company that trust their customers. Very helpful as well. Helped me do some trouble shooting on my Riva when I thought all hope was lost.
