Two articles for your reading pleasure. FORBES ain't (sorry Kent C) chopped liver gang. :)

Despite all these warnings, smoking by teenagers is less common than ever before, even as the popularity of vaping continues to rise. In the 2014 Monitoring the Future Study, 9 percent of eighth-graders, 16 percent of 10th-graders, and 17 percent of 12th-graders reported using e-cigarettes in the previous month. Those numbers are even higher than the rates seen in a 2013 CDC survey that Frieden considered alarming. Yet like the CDC survey, Monitoring the Future shows smoking rates are falling, hitting record lows in 2014.

Survey results released this week indicate that use of electronic cigarettes by American teenagers continues to rise, even as their use of conventional cigarettes continues to fall. You might think these diverging trends would give pause to critics who worry that e-cigarettes are “reglamorizing” the old-fashioned, combustible kind. Yet opponents of vaping seem undeterred by reality’s failure to match their predictions.

Yeah, you have to make e cigs illegal for the kids so they get a serious cigarette habit to cure for the anti-smoking crown. It hasn't taken long for kids to pick up what adults were doing and the ANTZ considered dangerous. They've done more to get kids to switch than vapers ever would have done on their own. My biggest concern is the cloud chasers and kids attempting to emulate them with disastrous results.

Don't quite get the 'sorry' intent there. And Jacob Sullum is more of a Reason mag guy than a Forbes guy, but they feature him a lot - which is good. But two good articles - thanks for posting.

Eventually people will see the real face of vaping and not the war mask the Big Tobacco is painting with the help of fear mongers and media in a effort to slow down the inevitable. Really good articles !
It's more Big Pharma and their "non-profit" health organization lackeys that are mongering the fear.
But Big Government appears to be running a strong second.

Big Tobacco, not so much.

We cannot forget that BG takes home more than anyone else from tobacco sales, they have the most to lose if the PV replaces them. Our health has nothing to do with their attack on e-cigarettes, it is in fact an impediment to the lie they want/need to get out to the public.

Desk Murders all.
