Jamaica new York seems to be eating my packages

I'm sure it's just the ....ty USPS tracking systems but I have 3 separate orders from the US that have been holding in Jamaica, New York. Anywhere from 5 - 9 days so far!!
Hah anyone have similar experiences?

I have 1 order that went through there too. Mine only took 4 days to get moving. If I use canada posts web site to track it they do this whimper that due to the strike there are tons of back log they have to go through......the poor babies

Anyway, I hope your stuff finally gets moving soon.

its probably the last destination it hits before it goes to canada so the electronic shipping info will not update any more until canada post scans the item , then u will get it quickly after but usually it wont update till canada post has it out for delivery

This was my BWB order: LJ868792477US according to USPS, it is still in Jamaica, NY, according to Canada Post, it doesn't exist, even though it arrived and I signed for it a few days ago!! Something is seriously messed up with CP's tracking system.

There was a thread a couple of months back that said that LJxxxxxxxxxUS tracking numbers from USPS will not update after they hit the customs (a good explanation about it too)

Here you go (from Dusty in another thread)

Tracking numbers starting with LJ and LN are issued to:
* First Class Mail
* Priority Mail Small Envelope
* Priority Mail Small Box

These packages are issued a tracking number but don't actually show you tracking information and usually take 2 weeks to get here.

Tracking numbers starting with CJ are issued to:
* Priority Mail Medium box or anything higher than small.

These packages can be tracked every step of the way, and are processed faster getting here in around 5 days.

Don't remember reading that one but thanks for letting me know. Now I won't go crazy checking the tracking next time, lol. But shouldn't it show up in the system at least that it was signed for? What if I made a claim saying that I never received it, there would be no way to tell if or when or where it was delivered?? I will try to find that other thread to find the explanation.

So, how you got your LJ packages to get here in 5 days is another one of those USPS/Canada Post anomalies that I will never understand.
