After a long wait, I finally received my Janty mini-fogger today. After charging the battery, I slid in the first cartridge (Janty tobacco) and drew my first puff. The draw was easy with a lot of vapour, but the taste felt terrible. Undaunted, I changed the cartridge to a camel and then to RY4. I even put a couple of drops of French MLB on the atomizer. I am really hating the taste. Its kind of a nauseasting taste. I am getting almost similar taste from all tobacco, Camel, French MBL and RY4.

I smelled the cartidges, the atomizer and they have the same nauseating smell/taste that I observe while vaping for all four flavors.

Perhaps there is something wrong with me cuz I really hate the taste/smell of all the 4 flavors whereas soooo many people seem to love them. Plus, I thought this is supposed to be odorless, but I smell the same nauseating/sickly-sweet smell.

Will fruit flavors help ?

I'm going to borrow from Kristin's great writeup on the 510. Not the same ecig, but some info works for the Mini-Fogger too...

Blow out your atomizer. The atomizer comes from the factory with a “primer fluid” to keep it moist, but it tastes terrible. Simply place your mouth over the threaded end and blow hard onto a paper towel until no more liquid comes out.

NOTE: There may still be some primer fluid on the atomizer, so you want to take a few puffs into your mouth and blow it directly out, to get the liquid flowing into the atomizer. Give 20-30 seconds between puffs, so the atomizer doesn’t get too hot. If you continue to taste a burnt/chemical taste, this is the atomizer burning off the primer fluid. Continue to “puff & blow” until the taste diminishes. If the taste gets worse, add two more drops directly onto atomizer again and continue to “puff and blow.”

Here's the entire writeup.... http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ng-you-ever-wanted-know-about-your-510-a.html

Don't give up yet. It will take a day or so to get the atomizer broken in and working like a champ.

Good luck,
Jeff

Thanks alot for your comments.

The thing which is bothering me is that I have tried just sucking (without attaching to the PV), catridges of all all four flavors, just to get a taste of things. I have to say that perhaps the atomizer is infact working fine, because the "taste" I get from the four catridges unattached is the same as I get in the vapours. The problem is that this "taste" and "smell" is truly terrible. I mean I nearly vomitted.

Something must be wrong. How do the liquid cartidges/liquids smell, do they have similar smells/tastes ?

I find it really weird that when I smell the cartidges, I only smell a sickly-sweet smell from all flavors. I have been off analogs for a couple of weeks so my sense of taste/smell works fine.

The fruity flavours taste and smell fruity :)

Is this your first e-cig? When I first got mine I hated the tobacco flavours and got on much better with fruit flavours, chocolate, coconut etc. After a few months I found I liked the tobacco flavours after all. Also, I've found the Janty tobacco flavours taste similar to each other. You can tell them apart but there seems to be a common ingredient that makes them quite alike. It could be that you're not liking so trying a different brand of liquid may help.

Thanks alot... so finally I can say that I am NOT going crazy :)
Yes, I think thats a more logical explanation. Seems like there is something in these tobacco flavors which I inhenrently hate.

Anyways, since we seem to share similar tastes, would you be kind enough to answer the following:

1. Which fruity flavors you liked the best ? I am really looking for delicious smelling and tasting flavors.
2. Is cappucino nice or similar to the tobacco flavors ?
3. Does the presence of nicotine impact the taste of fruity flavors ?
Meaning, should I only buy 0mg strengths for fruity flavors ?

No problem :) You may want to stick those Janty flavours in the fridge and hang on to them though. It's not uncommon to find you like a flavour you initially couldn't stand down the road.

Fruit flavours I liked were apple, cherry, strawberry - basically fruits I liked anyway. I've also really enjoyed the chocolate flavours and some of the vanilla flavours. My favourite non-tobacco flavour by far is Totally Wicked's coconut - I love that stuff and it's also very good for spicing up flavours I wouldn't normally care for. I've never tried cappucino though as I don't like coffee - green tea is very nice however.

It's all very subjective so I'd take all that with a pinch of salt. Quite a few suppliers sell sample packs so that could be worth considering rather than forking out for a full bottle of untried liquid in the one flavour.

I've found that the nicotine content adds some kick to the juice but doesn't really mask the flavour. I've never vaped lower than 16mg though so can't say what 0 tastes like. 36mg catches the throat a lot more than 16mg so I imagine it would be the same going down to zero.

Hope that helps!
