I used my pipe, noticed no smoke was coming out, then smelled something burning. Saw the battery lower than usual, not making contact...

Checked the spring, it's burnt and collapsed. The battery looks ok, though the plastic covering at the negative end was slightly melted (the spring didn't connect squarely with the battery. It partially touched the plastic part). Is it ok to still use the battery? I'm using AW IMRs btw. How will I know if the battery is still ok? I'm from the Philippines so AW 18350s are very hard to find, and cost a bit higher than usual, hence my question :)

Is it time I invest on a multimeter? Can I check a battery's usefulness with it? How? Thanks!

I narrowed it down after a few web searches and going back to what happened before it heated up and I think have found the culprit. The carto works well with my PT, and the battery, I had tested (though haven't used it yet). I was vaping normally before the incident, when I decided to clean the mouthpiece. As I put it back, I pushed it a little too hard and it seems the "seal"(?) in the connector broke, thus causing a short... ah well.
