When it comes to the subject of evil spirits and demonic activity, Jesus expressly stated what we must do to 'cast them out'. There are LEGIONS of demons, they have many names and they have domains or areas of dominion. They seek to kill, steal & destroy. We have been given POWER over them.... to rebuke them, to make them flee, by the Power of God's WORD and by the HOLY SPIRIT of Christ. I've decided to FAST and PRAY so that this power may be increased. I am hoping some of you might join me so that the 'forces' among us that seek to taunt, divide and conquer us might flee so that we may continue our gathering together in peace, love and hope.

And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; 18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not. 19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. 20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. 21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. 22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. 23Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 24And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. 25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. 26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead. 27But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose. 28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? 29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. - Mark 9: 17-29 (KJV)

I found it 'interesting' that the New International Version of the Bible omits the 'fasting' part that I believe is 'key'.... It simply reads; 29 He replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer"

Denying the flesh strengthens the spirit. Let's deny our flesh from time to time so that Christ (in us) may increase to such a degree that our Lights are so powerful that the evil forces of Hell can not stand to be in the midst of us.

I 'sense' evil forces within this forum all of the time. It's becoming increasingly difficult for us to discuss anything without dissension and constant disruption and 'taunting' by the spirits of the evil one who want us to 'conform' to their secular world views and political correctness. Nothing about GOD or JESUS or His HOLY WORD is politically correct, you either believe it (to your eternal good fortune) or deny it (to your eternal separation & damnation). Not a popular statement? No. Truth? Yes. Simple solution? Yes, (John 3:16) "For God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER (that's everyone!) believes on Him should not perish, but have everlasting Life"

There is the MILK of God (Grace, Love) and there is God's MEAT (Hate, Wrath)
It's time we all realize the differences as the opposition wants us to stay on God's bottle and not move on to whole Food... well, I want everything God offers and the Meat isn't the easiest thing to chew from time to time... but if He didn't want us to know about MEAT He wouldn't have given it to us in His Word.

Yes, I know, I've heard it and I'm certain this post will cause the din to rise again... our JOB is to preach the 'good news' of the Gospel and our focus is to do just that, but to deny Satan is an obstacle to this end is giving him permission to do just that, and I believe we should all strive to be more LIKE JESUS ... JESUS never suffered an Evil spirit to be in His presence, so neither shall I! :)

My ongoing prayer is that WE all grow in God's love & grace and be so burdened for the souls of the lost that we never fear the obstacles satan throws at us. I prayed a prayer a long time ago that by faith I believe God honored and will continue to honor as long as there is breath in my body and that simple prayer was; "Father, let EVERY SINGLE Life I touch, no matter how briefly, be brought to your salvation and into your Kingdom... In Jesus' name I believe and receive this, Amen" I hope this prayer becomes your prayer.... :)

That is one of the primary sited examples of the the KJV only mindset. There are some things missing from todays translations unfortunately.

I embrace all Bible translations e.... my personal preference is for KJV and I did not mean that as an offense (as in a position of superiority or anything like that). ALL of the translations of the Bible are good.. I just can't memorize anything except the King James Version! (lol) That's MY problem. I just 'feel' that in this particular 'instance' that the 'fasting' part is a 'key' and it's been very helpful to me personally. I'm 'led' by it.

Ok, how long are you fasting for? I could stand to loose a few pounds anyway. :)

Well, 'some' fast a day (sunup to sundown, water only) ... others 3 days (this would be me.. lol.. water and light juices only).. others have done 40 day fasts... (water, juices and broths).

I have found that (for me) when I deny the flesh I strengthen my Spirit being. It helps me.

I personally OBJECT to any translation since the 1611 KJV. Thousands upon thousands of changes have been made since the 1611 KJV taken from the majority text was done. There are alot of naysayers out there re: the bible translated to english also. This is from TOTAL LACK OF FAITH in Gods ability to preserve his word. All versions since the KJV including the NKJV are corrupt. Do some research, should take you many hours, but in the end you will know-not to embrace all bible translations. Just more evil to confuse we Christians

I couldn't agree with you more on this one

"For God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER (that's everyone!) believes on Him should not perish, but have everlasting Life"[/B]

Amen, sister!! I've sensed this as well. Even amongst ourselves there has been dissension, and it's exactly what the devil wants. Well, I'm not playing that game!! I rebuke the spirits of dissension in the name of Jesus, and by Jesus' Holy Blood! Amen!!!!!!!

KJV contains just as many mistakes as the rest. KJV was written when there were only 3 known manuscripts. Many more now give us a clearer picture of what is originally intended. Changes to a 1611 text is not always a bad thing. The changes (about 55,000) mentioned are small changes (usually grammar) and have very little if any bearing on anything. The very best or adherent to the original Greek text is the ASV but it is difficult to read for this reason. Any of the translations can teach man the will of God and how man can be saved. KJVism is just that...it is an "ism". What is the best translation for you? It is the one that you can easily read and understand. One could have the most correct Bible in the world but if one can't/won't read it and be able to understand it...it is of little use or help.

I read the KJV because (for me) it's the easiest (for me) to read, understand and retain to memory. Anytime I've had any difficulties understanding anything in the Bible I've prayed for God's discernment and enlightenment and He always helps me. The other translations just don't give me the 'revelations' like the King James does... but that's just me. :)

What about the NIV translation? Is that a good one or not? I just bought a new one on amazon last week.

Sure! Why not? I use an online parallel Bible source all of the time to 'compare' scriptures and doing this helps clarify a lot of things that aren't clear for me. I sure didn't mean to 'infer' that only the KJV is the only Bible one should use as that wasn't my 'intention'.... :)
