So the batteries are Casung. Any one ever hear of them?

I haven't, and I would strongly recommend you don't use them. Batteries not from the reliable brands (Samsung, LG and Sony) are usually rewraps. There's a fair chance their specs are misrepresented, and they could be or become unsafe.

The good brands (the three I mentioned) are often counterfeited. They should never be purchased from Amazon or eBay or even most vape stores unless you're absolutely sure about their sourcing. The resident battery expert, Mooch, has compiled a list of recommended batteries for vaping. At the bottom is a list of reliable vendors:

Mooch's Recommended Batteries | E-Cigarette Forum

Please get some safe(r) batteries from one of the vendors there, along with a good charger (Xtar and Nitecore are often recommended). They're no more expensive than rewraps, and even if they were safety is worth a lot.

Hi. I was browsing the net and came across this site. The thread I found was about the istick pico and weather you need flat batteries for it. I liked what I read so I decided to join. I am currently waiting for my istick pico in the mail. I ordered from fasttech. It is a kit so it is coming with a Melo III tank. I have had istick 50 and 100w before but they didn't last me long maybe 6 months. When my 100w broke I went back to analogs and also tried quitting a few times. My mom visited me for Christmas and suggested I order a istick pico from fastech. She told me it's actually slow tech due to it taking a while coming from China, so I bought a Aspire K3 just to keep me off of the cigs till it gets here. As soon as I got my taxes in I ordered the suggested mod and now I can't wait. I love vaping so much and it's been about 6 months or longer since I had a ecig I really enjoy. I also joined cause not many people I know vape a lot of people seem to think negatively about them. =^.^=
Welcome and glad you joined. Some folks just don't get it, PITA.

So the batteries are Casung.

I tried looking up Casung, and all the Casung batteries I found are 6000 mAh - with a CDR (continuous discharge rating) of 600 mA. If that's what you have, do not under any circumstances try to vape with them. Even if they are what they say they are, they'd only be safe to less than 2 W. I don't know of any coils that would even warm up at 2 W.

I looked the batteries up and even says in the details not for e-cigarette guess I was dumb about it not looking first. I thought 18650 might just be for e-cigarette but I know I was wrong now since the box said cameras and other electronic devices. So I think I might just buy one from the local store so I do not have to wait.

Yeah, at first you might think they're like AAs - more or less interchangeable. 18650 actually refers to the size: 18 mm in diameter and 65 mm in length. What's inside that package can be just about anything.

The two key ratings are:
  • Capacity (how long a charge lasts): 3000 mAh is the highest you'll get in batteries generally used for vaping
  • CDR (continuous discharge rating - how much power the battery can safely provide at a continuous draw): This should usually be 18A to 30A for vaping. There is no 18650 with a CDR higher than 30A - if a battery wrap says it's higher, the wrapper is lying.
Note that if you get a 18 - 20 A battery, you shouldn't go above 55 - 60w on your Pico. If you want to go up to 75w you'll need a 25 - 30 A battery, but the capacity will be lower.

I know it's frustrating to wait for vape mail. I'm currently anxiously awaiting a parcel that's taking a sojourn in Winnipeg. Admittedly it's en route, but my packages don't usually pause for processing there. Anyway, despite the annoyance I'd really recommend going with one of Mooch's recommended suppliers. Vape shops often sell unreliable rewraps like Efest and whatever-fire, and they often wind up with counterfeits of the good brands. It's worth waiting a few days to be sure your battery is safe.

A good charger (Xtar and Nitecore are reasonably-priced and decent quality) is just as important as a good battery. A bad one will definitely shorten the lifespan of your battery and could even cause it to vent or explode.

Good luck with your vaping journey!

If you do pick up a battery from your local store, be sure it's one that's recommended. I'd avoid Efest or other brands that some stores do sell and mistakenly believe are good batteries, and charge you a considerable amount more. As you're still waiting on arrival (unless I misunderstood) you can get them from online vendors like Illum, IMR, RTD all in the US, delivered in a few days, and generally cheaper than anywhere else.

It came yesterday and I love it. I definitely will order back ups of this. The coil is stuck in the tank it came that way. I will try sticking it in the freezer when I need to change coil. I did end up picking up efest batteries from the local store but I will order better ones in the future. I paid 2 for $20.00 I felt like it was a fair price.

When I had istick 100w with a Tfv4 not sure what the low is on that but I wouldn't go higher then 80 and my man said that was pretty much as low as I could go and that was pretty high for me on wattage. I was thinking of trying the Melo III at 30 to start with.
SMOK makes some some bomb ... tanks. I have a TFV8 and a TFV12 and I chain vape them in the 150w area. 80w just doesnt cut it for me. Everything is better than cigs tho.

I'm a brand new member too, but welcome.

You can get legit batteries online for cheaper. Try liionwholesale.com or orbtronic.com. Most people here like to get the highest capacity batteries they can for the amp rating they draw. I take a different approach. If two sets of batteries give me more capacity and end up costing less or the same as one set of higher capacity batteries, then Im getting two sets, which on constant rotation will last way longer than one. Also, batteries rated for higher current draw (actually rated like that by Mooch a.k.a not EFEST) are typically the cheaper ones. That's a plus for me being someone who vapes at higher watts. Apparently its capacity that sells.
