First off let me start by saying I've only been vaping for 48 hours. I used to smoke 1.5 packs of Misty Menthol 120's a day and have been a smoker for almost 20 years. I received my Joye 510 on Monday and without much effort, I haven't picked up an analog. This is absolutely stunning to myself and everyone who knows me. I had tried quitting before, and just turned into a raging B*&^h every time. I LOVE(D) smoking! I never really wanted to quit, and EVERYTHING I did revolved around when I could get my next cigarette. Today, only 48 hours into this, I'm an extremely happy camper and honestly can't see going back to those (dare I say) "nasty things". The taste, OMG, the taste, is soooo much better!! I would freak out if I couldn't have my brand of analog, so I really didn't think I would like vaping, but once I tried Vanilla flavored juice I was hooked. So creamy and smooth, it's the 2nd best thing about vaping!!! So what's the best thing...?

Work. Yep, I said it, work. I work as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital where smoking makes you a complete social outcast, and is SEVERELY frowned upon. You have to walk completely off hospital grounds if you wish to smoke and of course, hospital grounds are blocks. Yesterday after lunch my boss asks in a disapproving voice if I'm going to go smoke. I proceeded to tell her about my PV and quitting smokeing, and show her my 510. Then, without me even asking, she tells me I CAN SMOKE IN THERE! As long as we don't have a doctor or patient in our room it's fine. HOLY CRAP! Not at all what I expected! I had assumed I would have to "run to the bathroom" several times a day to stealth vape, which was way better than making the hike off site, but this was better than Christmas morning to me! So for the rest of the day I vaped whenever and as often as I could, with my co-workers giggling to the fact I could actually "smoke in the hospital". Every one was way more supportive than I could have expected, and that is the best thing (so far) about vaping.

Just had to share!) Happy vaping everyone!:vapor:

That is cool!!!! I know what you mean about being force to walk a mile for a smoke. Worked at a hospital years ago and it was about a 1/4 mile to off hospital grounds. I always thought it looked worst seeing a group of hospital employee grouped like that, then the way it was before the bans. Before there were dozens of areas for smoking and usually only a few people at any one area. Then the ban and you had to all go to one area outside the hospital, so had a group of 5 to 10 people smoking.Any way glad to hear that they will let you vape!!!

Very glad to hear of your positive experience! It so nice when someone has a rational mind about PV's. I was pleasently supprised when my boss told me "cant you just smoke that in here? its not a cigarette right?" (I was still going outside just as a courtesy... its only 15 feet away for me heh). You read all these stories of of how we are getting lumped in with the tobacco smokers' bans and its just refreshing to hear something positive! Keep on vaping!

Welcome Spoomsister to the forums and vaping! I to work for a healthcare organization which includes hosp/physicians and insurance. Since I started vaping in July I started stealth vaping in the restroom, now my cubicle. Funny to see some people who yell "I smell cake, whos' got cake?" I also know that the organization I work for has called for a smoke ban during working hours including breaks, lunch etc, which pretty much went by the wayside.

This past week they sent a e-mail to all of the employees that they will not tolerate any smoking during the work day, if you smell like smoke it will be subject to corrective action. One employee asked what if they ride to work with a smoker? The reply was make other arrangements or bring a change of clothes!

Fortunately I don't work with patients, fortunately I discovered vaping so I no longer have to go out in the cold & rain this winter! Although personally, I would rather have a Doc or Nurse that smokes and or vapes tending to me over one who is shloshed, but having a new sense of smell, I can somewhat appreciate what they're looking at!

We currently have 3 full-time vapers (myself included plus one who only rarely smoked but enjoys vaping 0nic) and 3 part-time vapers (one is very close to being completely off analogs) in our department. At any rate, this is all the smokers in this department. In this building there are only 3 other smokers, that I'm aware of, but they have no interest in e-cigs. I think there are about 60 people in this building. Not too shabby.

Converted my co-worker who smokes just as much as I do. And his wife. They haven't got their PV's just yet, but they did order them with some DIY mixing supplies!!!! Whoo hoo! And they are going to share some of their mixes! I told them I'd let them try some of my already mixed juices too. I like that having friends who vape you can try different stuff with less $$$. Hadn't thought of that benefit. Oh, and my BF ordered his yesterday too!

That's so great for you, I am so glad to hear this. I know it makes a big difference to be able to freely vape, especially being new to it. Not only the co-worker/boss tolerance, but I have found it helps you find what strengths and amounts work for you. It's going to work better for you if you get the amounts you need. I haven't yet found the balance between liquid amounts, dilutions, and what's uncomfortable nic strengths to vape, so I tend to vape almost all day since I've started low. Fortunately I can.

First test I did was with the cooperation of the office asthmatic, with her at a distance. She was able to walk right up to the vapor with no problem! They all know I have just a minuscule sense of smell (caused by genetics as well as analogs) and most are usually pretty good about telling me about smells I can't detect. But so far everyone has said they can't smell a thing with these. Once I told the boss that, and that it was only water vapor, he was fine with it. A few people, even though they know it's an e-cig, still get taken aback occasionally by the vapor since their eyes tell them it's real smoke.

I work in a technical environment with megabuck machines and it's made life much nicer when I'm stuck on an hours long problem. No more putting people on hold for half an analog out the nearest door. My boss has made an analytical game out of it "why do you want to use that vs this at this particular moment", that or this being flavors, strengths, analogs/ecigs (I still use a few analogs), manual/auto batts, etc. He's making me crazy, LOL.
