I am a GUY from L.A. not girl. lol
ive found the ego cartos and xl cartos hit and miss, some people love em, i use the 510 atomizer and cartridge, cut my own fluval (polyfil) and get a pretty consistant 1.5/2 hours on a cart full. The cartos just were not consistant for me, dry/flood/dry/flood, there are mods out for em, but im going to try the 510 CE2 V4 ceramic cartomizers soon as they are readily available, that and the ego batteries and im set.

I agree on the eGo mega cartos I've given up on them. I LOVE the eGo mega atty/carts though. And they do truely hold 2.5ml, unlike the cartos.

Anyone have much experience with the Boge made 510 clone stuff? Seems to be excellent quality but not a whole lot out there. it's just my "local" supplier sells that...

My friend started off w/ boge cartos and he loves them. He has now gone to an eGo w/ mega cyl atty and loves that MORE.

OK, so I definitely like just pocketing my PV's quickly and not having to use a case, so are the manual buttons easy to get pushed in your pockets with keys, etc? So, if so and you guys HAD to chose an auto batt, what do you recommend that isn't too sensitive? Thanks again!

I can only speak for myself, but I found the manual batt easy to set off in my pockets. I have an auto eGo batt now and I just love the thing! I got it from Cignot. I use low resistance Boge cartomizers on it and it's so much like smoking it's just ridiculous! I'm a happy vaper. :)

yeh, the cone (cover) looks nicer than just the atty and cart sticking up there, but its not ABSOLUTELY necessary for it to function, as we said, it helps with asthetics heat and vapor. it will be spare when you use the xl cartos as they are the same shape, eithr cone or cylinder, cone atomizers are not yet really common, so you'd have to search around to find them, your ego kit will come with the cone (cover) and its really all you need to get started
that and some extra carts and attys and JUICE!

I 2nd the usb passthrough ego battery suggestion - they are incredibly convenient and on average a charge tends to last me about 12 hours - but to be honest it's hard to do that because it's easier to just plug it in whenever I'm at the computer or in the car (using a standard usb car charger).

I direct drip - meaning I simply drip juice into the atty with a drip tip (pix below) from goodprophets.com and recommend my setup to anyone who is either just starting out, or just starting to get frustrated with battery life on their 510's.

Thanks for the input, I am glad to hear the eGo comes in auto's too, but I thought cartomizers were a pain to refill and the atty's in those don't last? Isn't it easier to stay 3-piece, top off a cart a few times til it doesn't wick much and then use a new cart?

E2 and eGo mega cartos are a pain to refill. The Boge type are easy. The auto eGo is fairly rare, and I believe it is sound activated(might be a clone). Three piece is fine, you may want to check out the cartridge mods forum to better understand the prblems. On my KR8 and SS batts I use cartos, on my eGos I only use eGo mega attys and carts.

danbfree, its a matter of choice i guess, some ppl love the cartomizers, ive only had experience with the ego xl cone and cylinder cartomizers, and i never did get a consistant vape from em, even after tinkering, i gave up and went back to standard 510 atomizer and flat tip cartridge, i cut my own fluval (polyfil) and drop the cart with about 10-12 drops and that lasts a hour or 2, just re-drip when it gets low or weak on flavor. works for me. everyones experiences will differ. so far im quite happy with the way they perform with this method.

:) You're welcome.

I get the cartos that have the soft tops on them. They come out easy and I can get 35ish drops in a carto, so I don't have to mess with the thing for at least two hours. I use about 3 a day (or just refill the same one 3 times in a day), vaping about 3ml daily. It's not a problem to fill a few at a time and just have them ready. I do like to direct drip when I'm able to sit down and relax enough to do it...that just doesn't happen that often, so LR Boge cartos are really my go to vaping experience. :)

yes, direct drip is something I am considering moving on to... Right now i don't mind pulling a 510 cart and topping it off quickly. So with the direct drip setup you have there, you drip into the end and there is a bit of a reservoir in the atty so you don't have drop right on to the coil like every few drags?

No reservoir - essentially it's just a mouthpiece with a hole in it - you drip into that hole, it goes down to the atty. I find about 3 or 4 drops (depends on the juice - why is everything a variable with these things? lol) lasts for a good 10 puffs or so. You can do the same w/out any special equip - just pull the filler out of your cart, drip 3 drops right down the atty, and put your cart back on and puff away. Honestly at this point I just like the comfort level of my drip tip - the curvy tip is very comfortable for me.

It really isn't as much of a pain as it sounds like - it takes less than 2 seconds to do, and I like the amount of vapor & flavor I get.

But, I'm also going off-track here! Basically, I just wanted to give a shout out to the manual ego batteries, in particular the super-convenient and just flat out slick usb PTs.

Wow, tons of awesome info, I really had NO idea I would get so many responses. Especially want to thank LowThudd, Vapulicious and BiancaMontgomery for answering my follow-up Q's... I'm finally off "work" (lol) so have to go deal with family stuff for the weekend... in the mean time, I think I like my 3 piece setup, so if anyone knows of a bigger, less sensitive auto batt for my 510 setup, please feel free to let me know!
