My Joye 510 batteries have suddenly stopped working. I got them 2 weeks ago, brand new. At first my charger was broke and I switched to my phone charger with the same USB connect and now the light will stay on (not flashing) but nothing will come out. I thought my atomizers were broken cause I tried to clean them and then found out I did it wrong, but I just put brand new atomizers on the batteries. One battery hit twice, but now won't hit at all. Do I have the worst luck ever or is there something I'm missing? I wiped the connector to the atomizer part of the battery and atomizer with a paper towel? Is there anything else I can do?

If you take the atomizer off, there is probably a circular piece of metal on the atomizer and on the battery. When those contacts meet, the battery sends power to the atty - but only if they are making contact. sometimes they get slightly depressed from being pushed together so much and they may not make contact. In fact, sometimes just cleaning the contacts will help - like cleaning the contacts on a phone and charger with an eraser (if you've ever hear of that). Anyway, you can use something small and stiff to get along side the contact to pull it up ever so slightly and gently. I use one side of a pair of tweezers. The tip of a knife or a small flat head screw driver would work as well. If you do this, do it gently or you may pop the contact off and it will be ruined. Although its already not working, right. :) I've never broken one, for what its worth.

Okay, so I tried to pull the contacts out a little, and it didn't help, I didnt want to pull out too much, I tried on the atomizer and the battery. Last night, I tried to charge it on the computer, but that didn't work. So, now I got another charger from the same company, and am hoping that it will charge it up. If it doesn't work, I have no idea what else to do! I miss my vaping! I only vaped for 2 weeks and now this is making me not want to anymore, cigarettes and lighters are less complicated.

Ok, so I just put my cig on the new charger and let it charge for like 5 minutes and it gave a little bit of a hit, so this might be a good sign! Maybe they're working again and I found that my phone charger just didn't work for it. Is there any way to permanently damage them? Like could I have messed them up by using my phone charger?

I feel your pain. I started with a 510 with two standard batts a month ago, then ordered two extended batts. Both of the extended batts failed within a week using the wall charger that came with them. USB charge doesn't work either. So now I'm just using my two standards (carefully planning each charge...lol) until my two new EGO'S arrive in a day or two!!! I am being credited for the extended batts by the way. Good luck and let us know what you end up finding out?

When they fail, does anything happen that like...tells you I guess, when they are done? One of the cigarettes just won't seem to hold a charge, but when it does, it will hit a little bit, and the other one is charged, but just won't hit at all. If they fail, do they just stop working, or do they stop charging and ....? Maybe one is dead and the other one just was with charger problems?

1.0 amp is way too much power. 150 ma is standard. It's possible you burned them out.

The power supply (charger) will only supply 1 amp of power if the device it is powering needs it, since current is a function of voltage and resistance.

Chargers have internal circuits to monitor/limit charging state. The charger will current limit the incoming supply voltage so that it does not damage the battery, and additionally, monitor the charge status of the battery (current draw vs cell voltage, Li-ions have fairly specific charging needs), and alter the charger's output to accomplish a charge.

That being said, do you have a standard charger that plugs into standard wall outlet?

Yes, I do, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be working and I can't figure out why. I even got a new charger, the only peice I haven't gotten new yet is new battery, so I guess I'll just get another one of those... :( guess I just got a rotten egg out of the bunch.
