I got my first Joye 510 Kit on the 18th of October 2010

When I press the button on the manual battery I noticed it flashes 3 times.
Therefore I figure it needs charging, I screw in the Manual Battery into the charger it shows red but after 1/2 hr to hour it show green. But the battery isn't charged cause the minute I put the e-cig together and take my first puff it starts flashing again.

The Auto Battery works with No Problem...

However when I press the button on the manual battery the little blue light is on.
The minute I twist on the atty it starts blinking even with the new atty I was sent along with my second order.

I cleaned the battery and atty but it still blinks but once I take the atty off and press the button the light is a solid blue.

Your thoughts....

It sounds to me like you have a defective manual battery, CanWEBada - which can happen even with quality brands (but is more likely with knockoffs). It's clear that your manual battery basically won't work & hasn't worked from the get-go. Looking back through your posts, I see you ordered your starter kit from VaporsKitchen. My advice would be to contact them immediately, explain exactly what's been happening, and request a replacement.

Looking at the photos on their site, it's not entirely clear to me whether their kits are really genuine joyetech - can anyone take a looksee & try to weigh in? They have a pretty large photo there of their starter kit.

Regardless of how this works out, I would recommend that in future, you order additional 510 batteries (either manual or automatic - I definitely prefer automatics myself) from Jack at Happy Vaper. His are guaranteed genuine Joyetech (I just verified it with him via email), work great, come in a wide variety of colours (even hot pink!), different LED colours too, are only $20 each...and there isn't a nicer supplier around. If you ever have any kind of problem with your Happy Vaper stuff, there's no question - Jack will make it right & make you a happy vaper.

Not trying to knock VaporsKitchen - just saying my experience with Jack has always been awesome.

I had a boo and they look pretty much like the standard 510 kits. His Trex is not advertised as a JoyE product but indeed states compatible with all JoyE products. That being said I would have to say he appears legit.

Stubear and I have been in nearly constant contact wrt "eGo" knocks offs for the eGo User sub in order the maintain the purity of the JoyE products there. It is not an easy feat. The problems lie in China where the main distributors are mislabelling or misrepresenting their products as "eGo". I know it doesn't apply here, but many vendors have reported they thought they were buying genuine JoyE products, only to find out otherwise after the fact.

That being said... the vendors who have been around the block once or twice have reputable distributors just like Happy Jack and a few others that are not "new" to the business.

The Chinese are not stupid, far from it. They know the popularity of the "eGo", re-branded eGos etc... and are taking advantage of their popularity to slip in the knock offs to the unwary public and unwary vendors and calling them eGos. Stu and I have no problems with knock offs perse, some are quite good, some on the other hand... More and more vendors are satrting to sate on their sites which mfrs are producing their products. I wish more would do this, it would make things allot simpler. That being said, some vendors can still be decievd by their distributors, heck it is the world we live in.

Unless folks know someone or visit the forums prior to acquisition, many will get burnt just like most of us on our initial purchases. Call it tuition. That being said - there is nothing wrong patronising and establishment with a sound reputation for one's vaping needs, vice shopping for bottom prices perse. Reputable vendors sell at market value...

I saw this question - Who sells the cheapest unflavoured liquid?

Shouldn't the question be - Who sells the best unflavoured liquid at the most reasonable price? after all we are vaping this stuff...
